"Russia and Venezuela show unity in assessing what is happening in Ukraine, in approaches to the settlement of the Middle East issues. Our countries express similar positions in the UN [United Nations], HRC [Human Rights Council]," Lukashevich said.
"Venezuela is Russia's second [-largest] trade and economic partner in Latin America after Brazil," Lukashevich said.
"Our investment cooperation is based on joint projects http://en.ria.ru/world/20140912/192868212/Russian-Projects-Safe-Despite-... in the energy sector, first and foremost, oil and gas field development," Lukashevich stated.
The plans to further develop cooperation between the two countries also include joint development of offshore fields, and construction of thermal power plant in Venezuela, among other projects. The countries are also cooperating in the military-technical sector.
