The far right could WIN the European elections!

Abstract:
Dear friends, This is an emergency: the far right could WIN the European elections! Yep. You read that right. 80 years ago war in Europe tore the world apart -- now hate is on the march there again. And if Europe falls, everything we’ve fought for could be lost -- the far right want to rip up climate agreements, send home migrants, and turn us against each other. Here’s the craziest thing -- if they win, it will be because most people don’t vote in EU elections. They stay at home. Sit it out. Miss their chance. We CANNOT let this happen. We need a massive, urgent campaign to get people to vote in key countries before it’s too late, reaching citizens everywhere with inspiring videos, ads, billboards, actions, and rallies with a simple message: vote to stop the hate.

Election after election has shown that this works -- and it’s damn cheap! Just $20 can reach up to 10,000 voters with inspiring messages showing why their vote matters. We have a team ready to start right now, and every single donation will allow us to reach thousands more!

Avaaz is the biggest grassroots movement in Europe, with members in every single country. But we can only win this if we are fast -- elections are just weeks away. Chip in now, and let’s honour those before us who fought hate and said "never again". Something big is happening in our world right now. Nationalists are winning election after election. From the US to Hungary, Brazil to India, they’re surfing waves of populist division and anger into positions of power, and then stirring up even more hate when they get there.

Now they’re coming for our last great beacon of hope -- Europe. Whether we live there or not, we’ve all felt its impact -- from women’s rights to protecting the environment, the EU has been a major force for good in our world. If it falls to hate, our fight for a better future gets much, much tougher.

We can still save it. If we raise enough, we’ll make this the main priority for the Avaaz team and hire a slew of creatives and videographers to produce light-shining content, flooding key countries to get as many people to the polls as we can.

Political campaigns spend millions on producing ads and campaign videos in election season for good reason -- it works! But this is NOT about supporting one party over another, it's about defending democracy itself.

Only our movement has the reach to pull this off! If we don’t do it, it won’t happen. Chip in now to power this movement against hate, and let’s get everyone to vote to save Europe from the far right -- before it’s too late!

This might be the most important campaign we ever run. Because we can’t tackle the massive threats we face, from climate change to war, if our best institutions are taken over by those who want to divide us. Our movement was made to fight for our democracies and the future we dream of -- now is our time to rise, like never before.

In hope and determination,

Bert, Ricken, Christoph, Luis, Joseph, Marigona, Rosa and the rest of the Avaaz team

PS: Countries across Europe have important and complex rules on how we can engage in election campaigning -- and they are there for good reason. We don’t expect the far right to play by the rules, but we will!
