Nakba Day – 77 years of resistance!
15 May 2025 mass demonstration
16:00 (4pm) at Südstern (metro station) in Berlin

For the past few years, the city of Berlin has repeatedly banned demonstrations around Nakba Day on absurd grounds. Last year the police stopped the demo with brutal force before it reached the end.

As anarchists, we believe in the people's self-determination! The last years' ban of the Nakba Demo has shown that there is no good way of expressing our demands within the framework of the german law and the conditions imposed by police. On this day in particular we will not accept any police orders that try to forbid the entirety or any part of the demonstration or hinder it from walking! We call on all to come prepared and to make clear whose streets these are – Our streets! No authority can silence our fight for a free Palestine! Let's take the streets of Berlin – the city which just in the midst of the end-plan for a full genocide against the Palestinians signed a "partner-city friendship" with "Tel Aviv"! We say: There can't be any friendship in genocide!

We call on anarchists to take part in the Nakba Day demonstration on May 15th at 16:00 (4pm) at Südstern. We are also calling for creative and decentralized actions on Nakba Day and the days around it to denounce Israel’s genocidal policies and Germany’s support for them. Khalas! Enough is enough! Let's show them that there will be no peace until full liberation.

Criticism of "Israel" and fighting for the liberation of Palestine from the river to the sea is anti-colonial.

Newspapers, courts, and politicians in Germany use the pretext of combating "antisemitism" to ban demonstrations for Palestine. With this wrong focus, they take away attention from the real danger to Jewish lives from right-wing extremists attack and Germany's persistent anti-Jewish disdain and hate. The trope of allegedly "imported antisemitism" serves the German elites in their attempts to whitewash their murderous antisemitic history and to distract from Germany's very real present-day anti-Jewishness.

As anarchists, we fight for the self-determination of all people, which for us also includes the anti-colonial liberation struggle. Western colonial states have been oppressing people in the Global South for several centuries. To this day the rhetoric of the "white man" whose mission it is, allegedly, to civilize the "uncivilized world” persists. Anti-colonial liberation struggles are suppressed and banned under the pretext of "fighting terrorism". But who are the real terrorists? Colonizer violence, in its sickening brutality and cruelty, is the textbook definition of terrorism.

The Nakba began in 1948 and continues to this day, but the Palestinian people have been suffering and resisting colonial violence since before 1948, at the latest with the British Mandate in 1917.

The Nakba (Arabic for "catastrophe") describes the expulsion of around 700,000 Palestinians in 1948, during the founding of the colonial state of "Israel". To this day, Palestinians are unable to return to their villages, towns, and stolen lands – their ancestral homes. However, the Nakba was not a single event: it continues to this day through land theft, expulsion, persistent violence and dehumanization, and other colonial practices. Every year on May 15th, one day after the annual anniversary of the declaration of independence of the settler-colonial state that calls itself "Israel", Palestinians worldwide and their supporters commemorate the Nakba, the immense and ongoing catastrophe, and the struggle for the liberation of the Palestinian people and for the return to their territories.

We say: LAND BACK! Liberation before peace! Right of Return for the Palestinians and for all peoples whose lands were stolen!
From the river to the sea, freedom for Palestine and all oppressed people! Because we will only be free when all of us are free.
