ABarrio Statement bezüglich der Nichtteilnahme am diesjährigen Rheinmetall Entwaffnen Camp

"Das Camp lebt von der Vielfalt der antimilitaristischen Bewegungen. Wir kommen in dem Bewusstsein zusammen, dass wir die Spaltungen zwischen uns überwinden müssen, um die Stärke zu haben Krieg zu stoppen. Kritik und Differenz sind dafür wichtig und wir laden dazu ein, Kritik solidarisch, klar und konstruktiv zu formulieren, ohne dass Veranstaltungen zur Abwertung anderer Gruppen oder Spektren genutzt werden." Das anarchistische und autonome Barrio hat sich auf dem Camp 2025 in Köln im Sinne einer vielfältigen antimilitaristischen Bewegung eingerichtet. Dabei gab es jede Menge Kritik und Differenzen untereinander und mit Leuten, die sich explizit als Organisator*innen verstehen. Teile des A-Barrios haben sich nach dem Camp zusammengefunden, um die Ereignisse kritisch und damit auch selbstkritisch Auszuwerten (https://anarchistbarrio.noblogs.org/texts/a-barrio-evaluation-text-from-berlin-assembly/#more-1419). Es war immer klar, dass das A-Barrio keine Gruppe ist und auch nicht sein will, sondern ein Ort anarchistisch- autonomer Organisierung. Motivation für die Mobilisierung war die Erfahrung von Einigen aus den vorigen Jahren, dass es im Camp keinen Raum für marginalisierte, unorganisierte oder anarchistisch-autonom organisierte Leute gab. Das A-Barrio war damit nicht als Angriff auf die Struktur sondern als Ergänzung geplant.  

Viele Leute, auch solche, die Teil von RME sind, haben das A-Barrio in Köln frequentiert und Zuspruch formuliert. Zwischen Leuten aus dem A-Barrio und dem Revolutionären Barrio gab es außerdem eine solidarische Zusammenarbeit. Wie RME das A-Barrio letztendlich bewertete, war bis zur Mail vom 7. Februar aber unklar und selbst in Kenntnis der Mail darf man Zweifel haben, dass es eine Auswertung des Camps und einen Umgang mit Kritik im Rahmen des Bündnisses gab. Fakt ist aber - und daran muss man RME politisch messen - dass das Bündnis nicht öffentlich aber gegenüber dem A-Barrio eine eindeutig hegemoniale Position einnimmt.

RME fordert in Bezug auf Streit zwischen Einzelpersonen auf der Demo in Köln eine Stellungnahme des A-Barrios und eine "Sicherstellung, dass ähnliche Situationen sich nicht wiederholen werden, um innerhalb des Bündnis oder im Rahmen eines nächsten Camps genossenschaftlich zusammen zu arbeiten"

Daraus ergibt sich, dass RME den offenen Charakter, das "Nicht-Organisation-Sein" des A-Barrio, entweder nicht verstanden hat oder aufgrund politischer Ideologie ablehnt Beziehungsweise einfach negiert. Und dies bedeutet in der Konsequenz, dass das RME-Bündnis und alle seine Aktivitäten wie das Camp in Köln zu keiner diversen, antimilitaristischen Bewegung führen werden. Statt die behauptete Vielfalt praktisch zu Realisieren, reagiert RME auf die doch eigentlich simple Herausforderung einer selbstorganisierten Struktur im Camp mit Repression. Dabei ist das einzige, was ein A-Barrio von einem X-beliebigen angereisten Freundeskreis auf dem Zeltplatz unterscheidet, die Proklamation der Autonomie. Hätte es keine öffentliche Einladung zur Beteiligung oder selbst organisierte öffentliche Diskussionen des A-Barrios gegeben, hätte RME nichts daran auszusetzen. Sicherlich gab es mehr als ein Grüppchen, welches sich die Tage auf dem Camp ihr eigenes Programm zusammengestellt hat - was ein Merkmal einer Bewegung darstellt und durch niemanden zu verhindern ist. RME hat nur deshalb so allergisch auf das A-Barrio reagiert, weil dessen Akteure Angst haben, dass ihre zentrale Stellung, die sie als Organisatoren im Camp beanspruchen, unterhöhlt wird. Aus dem Einhegungsversuch, der aus der E-Mail spricht, ist zu verstehen, dass RME nicht an eine Bewegung glaubt, die aus Dezentralität, selbstorganisiert von unten entsteht. Es herrscht der Glaube, dass es eine zentrale Organisation braucht, die die Teilnehmer*innen leitet. Das Problem, das RME mit dem A-Barrio hat ist also eigentlich ein politisches, obwohl es als organisatorisches Beschrieben wird. 

Das Absurde ist, dass die Anarchist*innen und Autonomen auf das Camp gekommen waren, um genau das umzusetzen, was RME eigentlich proklamiert, nämlich die Überwindung von Spaltungen und die Schaffung einer vielfältigen Bewegung. Dies zeigte sich in der von vielen wohlwollend quittierten öffentlichen Mobilisierung, die sich dem Camp und den Aufrufen anschloss - vorbehalt- und kritiklos (und das nicht aus Naivität und Unwissenheit über Vorfälle und Debatten der Vergangenheit). Dies zeigte sich des weiteren in der Auswertung des Berliner Vorbereitungstreffens des A-Barrio, dass sich in solidarischer Kritik übte und auch bemüht, die eigenen Fehler im Hinblick auf das kommende Camp kritisch zu Hinterfragen. Da muss sich natürlich die Frage gestellt werden, wie die vielen in RME zusammengeschlossenen Gruppen auf zukünftige autonome Initiativen reagieren werden, die im Falle von größeren Lagen wie Massenmobilisierungen und Aufständen sehr viel deutlichere Positionen gegen hegemoniale Tendenzen einnehmen werden müssen und auch sicherlich tun werden. 

Nachdem wir uns als Berliner Treffen versichert hatten, dass die Mail vom 7. Februar tatsächlich der Position von ganz Rheinmetall Entwaffnen entspricht und nicht nur der einer Arbeitsgruppe, haben wir umgehend beschlossen, nicht an zunkünftigen Camps von RME teilzunehmen. In einer letzten Mail haben wir noch im Februar versucht, im von RME erwähnten Streit von Einzelpersonen zu vermitteln sowie nach einer Auswertung des Camps von RME gefragt. Darauf gab es bis heute keine Antwort. Entsprechend unserer Entscheidung zur Nicht-Teilnahme und um unsere Erfahrung mit RME zu teilen, haben wir uns entschlossen, diesen Text zu veröffentlichen.

On February 7, 2026, Rheinmetall Entwaffnen (RME) addressed the Berlin meeting on the preparation and follow-up of the anarchist autonomous barrio in Cologne in 2025 by email. In it, RME makes it clear that self-organized participation in the 2026 camp is not desired. The email is addressed not only to the Berlin meeting, but to the entire A-Barrio. The hegemonic claims of RME formulated therein require open discussion, as they affect all participants* in the camp. It is confirmed that positions and structures dominate in the alliance that take a fundamental opposition to autonomy in the struggles and the movement.

"The camp thrives on the diversity of anti-militarist movements. We come together in the awareness that we must overcome the divisions between us in order to have the strength to stop war. Criticism and difference are important for this, and we invite criticism to be formulated in solidarity, clearly, and constructively, without events being used to devalue other groups or spectra." RME (Joint Interaction I. 2.)

The anarchist and autonomous barrio has established itself at Camp 2025 in Cologne in the spirit of a diverse anti-militarist movement. There was a lot of criticism and differences among themselves and with people who explicitly see themselves as organizers. Parts of the A-Barrio came together after the camp to evaluate the events critically and thus self-critically (https://anarchistbarrio.noblogs.org/texts/a-barrio-evaluation-text-from-...). It was always clear that the A-Barrio is not a group and does not want to be, but a place of anarchist-autonomous organization. The motivation for the mobilization was the experience of some in previous years that there was no space in the camp for marginalized, individuals who don't belong to a group or anarchist-autonomously organized people. The A-Barrio was thus planned not as an attack on the structure but as an addition.

Many people, including those who are part of RME, have frequented the A-Barrio in Cologne and expressed their support. There was also solidarity between people from the A-Barrio and the Revolutionary Barrio. However, how RME ultimately assessed the A-Barrio was unclear until the email of February 7, and even with knowledge of the email, one can have doubts that there was an evaluation of the camp and a handling of criticism within the framework of the alliance. The fact is, however - and this is how RME must be measured politically - that the alliance does not publicly but clearly takes a hegemonic position vis-à-vis the A-Barrio. 

RME calls for "clear contact persons from involved associations and organizations"

RME demands that "the decisions of the Alliance be passed on within the respective structures and that appropriate action be taken within the framework of the Alliance projects."

Regarding a fight between individuals at the demonstration in Cologne, RME calls for a statement from the A-Barrio and "ensuring that similar situations will not be repeated in order to work cooperatively within the alliance or within the framework of a subsequent camp."

This means that RME either does not understand the open character, the "non-organization" of the A-Barrio, or rejects it due to political ideology or simply negates it.
And this means, as a consequence, that RME alliance and all its activities like the camp in Cologne will not lead to any movement. Instead of practically realizing the claimed diversity, RME reacts to the actually simple challenge of a self-organized structure in the camp with repression. The only thing that distinguishes an A-barrio from any circle of friends who have traveled to the campsite is the proclamation of autonomy. If there had been no public invitation to participate or self-organized public discussions by the A-Barrio, RME would have no objection. Certainly, there was more than one group that put together its own program during the days at camp - which is a characteristic of a movement and cannot be prevented by anyone. The only reason RME has been so allergic to the A-Barrio is because its actors are afraid that their central position as organizers in the camp will be undermined. From the hegemonial attempt, which speaks from the email, it can be understood that RME does not believe in a movement that arises from decentralization, self-organized from below. There is a belief that a central organization is needed to lead the participants. So the problem RME has with the A-Barrio is actually a political one, although it is described as organizational.

The absurd thing is that the anarchists and autonomists came to the camp to implement exactly what RME actually proclaims: overcoming divisions and creating a diverse movement. This was evident in the public mobilization that many welcomed and joined the camp and the calls - unreservedly and uncritically (and not out of naivety and ignorance of past incidents and debates). This was further demonstrated in the evaluation of the Berlin preparatory meeting of the A-Barrio, which expressed solidarity and also attempted to critically question its own mistakes with regard to the upcoming camp. The question must, of course, be asked how the many groups united in RME will react to future autonomous initiatives, which, in the case of larger situations such as mass mobilizations and uprisings, must and certainly will take much clearer positions against hegemonic tendencies. 

After making sure that the email of 7 February does indeed represent the position of all of RME and not just that of a working group, we immediately decided not to participate in future RME camps. In a final email back in February, we tried to mediate the dispute between individuals mentioned by RME and asked about an evaluation of RME's camp. There has been no answer to this to date. In accordance with our decision not to participate and to share our experience with RME, we decided to publish this text in July.
