   Dear AfD,

We are the 84% who did not vote for you.

We are left of center, right of center, and exactly in the center. We are people of every gender, every age, every background, every religion, every skin color, every sexual orientation, every political direction. We are the ones who make our country what it is.

And we rise up against your racism.

We stand for an open, social, liberal, diverse Germany, where there is no place for xenophobia. Where you want to erect walls, we build bridges. Where you aim to spread hate, we respond with solidarity.

Millions of people took to the streets against the far-right. Countless people actively engaged with friends, family, and at the ballot box.

The results mean that the AfD may be strong but not invincible. It means that many who might have wanted to vote for them didn’t do so in the end. It means that through joint efforts we helped prevent the worst.

Now we need to keep at it.

Because after the European elections come the state elections and the federal election! And it is crucial to fight on all levels until right-wing ideas and right-wing agitation have disappeared from public discourse again.
