Solidarity Call for Gisi

Dear friends and comrades,</strong></p>
<p>We urgently need your help and solidarity.</p>
<p>The oldest squat of Winterthur/CH (and probably of Switzerland) is imminently threatend to be evicted in August. Gisi, at General-Gusian-Street 31, was squatted in January 1997 and is until now used as home for a lot of people without much money and as a social meeting point and non-profit culturals space.</p>
<p>Over the last years we, Häuservernetzung Winterthur, tried everything not to let this happen and to save this important house as a home and social and radical cultural space from destruction.</p>
<p>But the owners, SKKG - a very wealthy real estate- and art-foundation - are planning to renovate the house for five million swiss francs to make more profit of every house they own. Letting rich people take over the last piece of innercity of Winterthur.</p>
<p>SKKG owns more than 2200 flats in Switzerland and is responsible of displacing the poor here and elsewhere by renovating or destroying the houses, that they where mostly falling apart for decades. All inhabitants, squatters and tenants alike had to look after their homes themselves. Now the foundation wants to make even more profit by renovation or tearing down all their houses.</p>
<p>This means a massdisplacement of working class, poorer people. We're struggling against their evil plans and are willing to defend Gisi in the heart of the old town of winterthur.</p>
<p>Come to Winti, help us mobilise against the violent eviction of this important home, social and cultural center.</p>
<p>Do whatever you like to show your support and/or help defending Gisi!</p>
<p>If you don't know, how you could support us, here are some ideas:<br class='autobr' />
do any political actions you like, paint walls, drop banners, organise demonstrations, create posters, stickers, write articles or write to the responsible owners and city council ....</p>
<p>Keep in touch! There will be a mobilisation against the eviction in August. Come to Winterthur and take part in the struggle. If they ever manage to evict us, there will be a demonstration on Saturday after the eviction.</p>
<p>We know that the destruction of affordable housing for the working people is a big issue around the world. We are many, the profiteers are few. Let us build solidarity and smash capitalism everywhere!</p>

<p><strong>Besetzte Häuser verteidigen - würdigen Wohnraum für alle verteidigen! Gisi bleibt!</p>
<p>Liebe Freund:innen und Genoss:innen</strong></p>
<p>Wir brauchen dringend Eure Hilfe und Solidarität.</p>
<p>Das älteste besetzte Haus von Winterthur/CH (und vermutlich der Schweiz) ist akut räumungsbedroht ab August. Die Gisi, an der General-Guisan-Strasse 31, wurde im Januar 1997 besetzt und ist bis heute Zuhause von vielen Leuten mit wenig Geld und ein sozialer Treffpunkt und ein unkommerzieller Kulturraum.</p>
<p>Während den letzten Jahren, haben wir - die Häuservernetzung Winterthur gemeinsam mit der linken Bewegung der Stadt - alles versucht, um dies zu verhindern und diesen wichtigen Ort als Zuhause und sozialen und revolutionären Kulturraum vor der Zerstörung zu retten.</p>
<p>Aber die Eigentümerin, die SKKG - eine sehr reiche Immobilien- und Kunststiftung - plant, das Haus für fünf Millionen Franken zu renovieren, um Profit aus jedem Haus zu pressen, das sie besitzen. Damit sorgt sie dafür, dass die Reichen das letzte Stück der Innenstadt von Winterthur übernehmen werden.</p>
<p>Die SKKG ist Eigentümerin von über 2200 Wohnungen in der Schweiz und ist verantwortlich für die Vertreibung von Armen hier und anderswo, indem sie ihre Häuser totalsaniert oder abreissen lässt. Diese Häuser wurden über Jahrzehnte dem Verfall überlassen. Alle Bewohner:innen, Besetzer:innen und Mieter:innen, mussten für den Erhalt selber besorgt sein. Jetzt will die Stiftung noch mehr Profit herausholen mit Abriss und Luxussanierungen.</p>
<p>Diese Politik bedeutet Massenvertreibung von Arbeiter:innen und Armen aus der Stadt. Wir kämpfen gegen diesen meiesen Pläne und wollen die Gisi verteidigen im Herzen der Altstadt von Winterthur</p>
<p>Kommt vorbei, helpt uns gegen die gewaltsame Räumung der Gisi, als selbstverwalteter Wohn- und Kulturraum, zu mobilisen.</p>
<p>Macht, was immer Ihr wollt, um Eure Unterstützung zu zeigen und helft, die Gisi zu verteidigen.</p>
<p>Wenn Ihr keine Ahnung habt, wie Ihr uns unterstützen könntet, hier einige Ideen:</p>
<p>Organisiert jegliche politischen Aktion, malt Wände an, hängt Tansparente auf, organisiert Demonstrationen, gestaltet Plakate, Kleber, schreibt Artikel oder Briefe an die Verantwortlichen der SKKG oder der Stadt....</p>
<p>Bleibt mit uns in Verbindung! Es wird eine Mobilisierung geben gegen die drohende Räumung im August. Kommt nach Winterthur und nehmt an diesem sozialen Kampf teil. Sollten sie es tatsächlich schaffen, uns zu räumen, wird es am darauffolgenden Samstag eine Demonstration geben.</p>
<p>Wir wissen, dass die Zerstörung von günstigem Wohnraum und von autonomen Räumen weltweit ein grosses drängendes Problem ist. Wir sind viele, die Profiteur:innen sind wenige. Lasst uns Solidarität aufbauen und den Kapitalismus zerschlagen, überall!</p>

<p><strong>Appello internazionale all'azione e alla solidarietà</p>
<p>Difendiamo tutti gli squat – Difendiamo un alloggio dignitoso per tutti! Gisi bleibt!</strong></p>
<p>Cari amiche.i e compagne.i,</p>
<p>abbiamo urgente bisogno del vostro aiuto e della vostra solidarietà.</p>
<p>La più antica casa occupata di Winterthur/CH (e probabilmente di tutta la Svizzera) rischia di essere sgomberata a breve, nel mese di agosto. Gisi, situata in General-Gusian-Strasse 31, è stata occupata nel gennaio 1997 e fino ad oggi è stata utilizzata come alloggio per molte persone con scarse risorse economiche, nonché come luogo di incontro sociale e spazio culturale senza scopo di lucro.</p>
<p>Negli ultimi anni noi di Häuservernetzung Winterthur abbiamo fatto di tutto per impedire che ciò accadesse e per salvare dalla demolizione questa importante casa, intesa come dimora e spazio sociale e culturale radicale.</p>
<p>Ma i proprietari, la SKKG – una fondazione immobiliare e artistica molto facoltosa – hanno in programma di ristrutturare l'edificio con un investimento di cinque milioni di franchi svizzeri per trarre maggior profitto da ogni immobile di loro proprietà. Consentendo così ai ricchi di appropriarsi dell'ultimo angolo del centro storico di Winterthur.</p>
<p>La SKKG possiede oltre 2'200 appartamenti in Svizzera ed è responsabile dello sfratto dei poveri, sia qui che altrove, attraverso la ristrutturazione o la demolizione di edifici che, per lo più, versavano in condizioni fatiscenti da decenni. Tutti gli abitanti, sia gli occupanti abusivi che gli inquilini, hanno dovuto provvedere autonomamente alla manutenzione delle proprie abitazioni. Ora la fondazione intende aumentare ulteriormente i propri profitti ristrutturando o demolendo tutti i propri immobili.</p>
<p>Ciò significa uno sfollamento di massa della classe operaia e delle persone più povere. Stiamo lottando contro i loro piani malvagi e siamo pronti a difendere Gisi nel cuore del centro storico di Winterthur.</p>
<p>Venite a Winti, aiutateci a mobilitarci contro lo sgombero violento di questo importante centro abitativo, sociale e culturale.</p>
<p>Fate quello che volete per dimostrare il vostro sostegno e/o aiutare a difendere Gisi!</p>

intraprendi qualsiasi azione politica tu voglia: dipingi muri, appendi striscioni, organizza manifestazioni, crea manifesti e adesivi, scrivi articoli e canzoni e scrivi ai proprietari responsabili SKKG (b.stefanini@skkg.ch, claudia.siegle@terresta.ch) e al governo comunale (sekretariat.dpr@win.ch)....</p>
<p>Rimanete in contatto! Ad agosto ci sarà una mobilitazione contro lo sgombero. Venite a Winterthur e partecipate alla lotta. Se mai riuscissero a sgomberarci, sabato dopo lo sgombero ci sarà una manifestazione.</p>
<p>Sappiamo che la distruzione degli alloggi a prezzi accessibili per i lavoratori è un grave problema in tutto il mondo. Noi siamo tanti, gli speculatori sono pochi. Costruiamo la solidarietà e abbattiamo il capitalismo ovunque!</p>
