05.08. Hausprojekt? Nein, danke? - Eine Reise vom besetzten Haus zum Privateigentum am Beispiel der RM16

Und obwohl die meisten Projekte in unserer Stadt derzeit recht gut funktionieren, gibt es einen Ort, der den lokalen Linken Unbehagen bereitet, und dieser Ort heißt RM16. In diesem ehemals besetzten Hausprojekt sind in den vergangenen Jahren viele verschiedene Aktivist*innen ein- und ausgezogen, wobei es in jüngster Zeit zu einer massiven Eskalation seitens der Menschen kam, die sich selbst als Hauseigentümer*innen bezeichnen. Derzeit laufen noch mehrere Gerichtsverfahren gegen die Hausgemeinschaft, wobei eines davon der Versuch von zwei Personen ist, das gesamte Haus räumen zu lassen. Die RM16 kann als etwas Besonderes angesehen werden, ist aber leider nur eines der Beispiele für die Probleme, die tiefer liegen, wo politische Ideen auf die Realität von Menschen treffen, die ihre Ansichten und Überzeugungen je nach Situation ändern.

An diesem Abend wird es einen kurzen Vortrag von einigen der derzeitigen Bewohner*innen des Hauses geben und wir werden darüber diskutieren, wie wir in einer Situation vorankommen können, in der es scheinbar keinen Ausweg gibt.

History is full of examples of good ideas turning very bad through problematic implementation. In theory the idea behind most of the house project that were bough out from the capitalist market and belong to the people that live in them is great. „The houses belong to the people who live in them“ is a slogan of Mietshäuser Syndikat who has 10 projects in Dresden and it’s surrounding areas. The houses are managed by the people who live in them through collective cooperation. The rent is paid as part of returning the credits for the original buying of the house.

And even though most of the projects in our city work pretty well at this point, there is a place that makes local leftists feel uncomfortable and the place is called RM16. The house project that was previously occupied have seen many different activists moving in and out in the past years with recent massive escalation from the people who describe themselves as house owners. At this point several court cases are still running against the house community with one of them as attempt by just 2 people to evict the whole house. RM16 can be seen as something special, but unfortunately it is just one of the examples of the problems that exist somewhere deeper where political ideas meet reality of people changing their views and belives depending on the situations.

On this evening we will have a short presentation from some of the people currently living in the house and will have a discussion on how to move forward in the situation where it doesn’t look like there is any road to take.
