DROHENDER ANGRIFF AUF PROSFYGIKA? - INPUT ZUR AKTUELLEN LAGE UND DISKUSSION ÜBER PRAKTISCHE INTERNATIONALISTISCHE SOLIDARITÄT

Im Sommer 2025 initierte die Regionalregierung einen Plan zur Gentrifizierung und brutalen Räumung von Prosfygika mit öffentlichen Geldern, der innerhalb der nächsten Monate ausgeführt werden soll. 
In den letzten 10 Jahren ist es dass vierte Mal das der Staat versucht Prosfygika zu räumen. Doch dieses Mal ist die Lage noch ernster - die Räumungspläne sollen unmittelbar umgesetzt werden.

Die Bedrohung ist nicht neu, doch die Antwort darauf auch nicht. 
Die Community leistet seit über 16 Jahren Widerstand und die Verteidigung gegen die Räumungspläne wird auf allen Ebenen organisiert.
Bereits letzten Sommer kündigte Prosfygika den Plan zur selbstorganisierten und selbstfinanzierten Restauration der historischen Gebäude an - welcher im Moment in die Praxis umgesetzt wird. Seit mittlerweile mehr als einem Monat ist unser Genosse Aristotelis Chantzis, Mitglied und Bewohner der Community, in einem Hungerstreik bis zum Tod als Teil des kollektivem Kampfes für die Existenz und Verteidigung Prosfygikas.

Die Community of Squatted Prosfygika hat beschlossen, ihren gesellschaftlichen Vorschlag, ihre Menschen, ihre Strukturen und ihre gemeinsame Geschichte bis zum Ende zu verteidigen. Sie ist bereit dies auf allen Ebenen zu tun – und damit für ihre eigene Existenz und Befreiung zu kämpfen. In diesem Sinne rufen wir dazu auf zusammenzukommen. Wir werden über die aktuelle Lage informieren und uns darüber austauschen wie wir als Internationalist*innen die Verteidigung Prosfygikas unterstützen können.

IMMINENT ATTACK ON PROSFYGIKA? - INPUT ON THE CURRENT SITUATION AND DISCUSSION ABOUT PRACTICAL INTERNATIONALIST SOLIDARITY

Since 16 years, the self-administrated neighborhood Prosfygika exists as a flame of resistance, communality and hope in the heart of Athens. The community and it's inhabitants, the old and young, migrants, families, students and vulnerable groups are facing an imminent attack by the Greek state.

In summer 2025, the local government secretly initiated a contract for the plan of eviction and renovation of four buildings of the community, driving forward the gentrification of the area; the attack happening within the next months. 
Over the last decade, this is the fourth time that the state and the government have attempted to evict and plunder Prosfygika. This time appears to be the most serious and is about to be implemented immediately.

The threat is not new, but the answer to it neither.
The community organizes its defense against the eviction plans on all levels. 
Already last summer the community announced the plan for a selforganized and selffinanced restoration of the historical buildings, which is currently being put into practice. For more than a month Aristotelis Chantzis, a member and resident of the Community of Squatted Prosfygika, is in hunger strike to death, as a means of collective struggle for the preservation and defense of Prosfygika.

The community of Squatted Prosfygika has decided to defend it’s social proposal, it’s people, it’s structures, and it’s historical memory to the end. It is willing to defend itself on all levels – and thus to fight for its own existence and liberation. In this mentality we call on all of us to come together. We will inform on the current situation and will exchange how as internationalists we can contribute to the defense of Prosfygika.
