Statement der Rigaer 78 zu den Vorfällen rund um Max

Wir, als Rigaer 78, möchten uns kurz aus aktuellem Anlass zu Max (Zuletzt bei “Zaraza” und “Möstley Crüde”) äußern, da er bereits seit über einem Jahr bei uns Auftrittsverbot hat, aufgrund eines Vorfalls aus dem Frühjahr 2023. Es folgte ein Haus- und Kneipenverbot für Max.
Unsere Hausgemeinschaft wurde damals von einer Person, die vor Max Schutz gesucht hat, um unsere Hilfe gebeten.
Die betroffene Person hat von ihm sowohl physische als auch psychische Gewalt erfahren und erhebliche Verletzungen davongetragen und wollte anschließend aufgrund der anhaltenden Bedrohung nicht in ihre Wohnung zurückkehren.
Dieses Statement wurde ohne Rücksprache mit der damals betroffenen Person verfasst, da es sich ausschließlich auf die Entscheidungen bezieht, die wir als Bewohner*innen der Rigaer 78 getroffen haben.
Damals haben wir als Hausgemeinschaft beschlossen, dass wir ihm und seiner Band weder im Abstand noch auf unserem Straßenfest eine Bühne bieten wollen.
Aus unserem näheren Umfeld haben wir Kenntnisse von weiteren Vorfällen erhalten, auf die wir aus verschiedenen Gründen nicht eingehen können.
Nach der Veröffentlichung eines Callouts gegen Max von einer Betroffenen aus Wien, ist es uns wichtig, zu betonen, dass das übergriffige Verhalten von Max gegenüber Frauen kein Einzelfall ist und es auch aktuellere Vorkommnisse gibt (Frühling 2023).
Die Solidarität der Rigaer 78 und Friends gilt den Betroffenen und wir bieten keinen Raum und keine Bühne den Tätern und ihren Täter*innen-Schützer*innen.

We, the residents of Rigaer 78, would like to address the situation regarding Max (most recently active in “Zaraza” and “Möstley Crüde”), as he has been banned from performing with any of his bands at our house for over a year due to an incident in the spring of 2023. This was followed by a general ban from our house and bar for Max.
At that time, our community was approached by a person seeking protection from Max and asking for our help.
The affected person experienced both physical and psychological violence from him, suffered significant injuries and subsequently did not want to return to their apartment due to the ongoing threat.
This statement was written without consulting the person affected at the time, as it solely relates to the decisions that we as residents of the 78 made.
As a community, we decided back then that neither Max nor his band would be given a platform at Abstand or during our street festival.
We have also received information about other incidents from our immediate social circle that we cannot address for various reasons.
Due to current events, after the publication of a callout against Max by a person affected in Vienna, it is important to us to emphasize that Max's aggressive behavior towards women is not an isolated case and that there have been more recent incidents. (Spring 2023).
The solidarity of Rigaer 78 and its friends goes out to those affected and we do not provide a space or a platform for the perpetrators and neither for their protectors or supporters.
