INTERNATIONAL CALL TO ANARCHISTS AGAINST THE MASSACRE LAW

The text below is an anarchist declaration calling for international solidarity against state violence and advocating for animal rights in Turkey. It protests against the new law resulting in the mass killing of animals and aims to organize a global resistance. INTERNATIONAL CALL TO ANARCHISTS AGAINST THE MASSACRE LAW The amendment numbered 7527, passed by majority vote in the Turkish parliament on August 2, has laid bare the fascist and authoritarian methods used against animals, revealing the purest form of speciesist domination. While the previous law applied the “neuter–vaccinate–let live in place” principle, the new law and its regulations state that all street dogs will be confined in prisons disguised as “shelters.” Starting with those considered “victims of overbreeding,” all dogs may be executed. Since the law was approved by the state, hate speech and violence against animals have skyrocketed on social media. Violence toward street animals and the people who care for them has also increased. At the same time, brutality and mass killings inside municipally run shelters have continued to escalate. With the enforcement of the law, thousands of dogs and cats have been slaughtered in shelters. Violence and massacre against animals have grown day by day. In recent months, emboldened by this law and the climate of hate it fueled, an elderly woman, Ülker Güleryüz, was burned alive in her home in Ankara along with the dogs she cared for, in an arson attack whose perpetrators remain unknown. In Izmir, Şevket Yerdeşen was shot and killed by his neighbor simply for looking after dogs in his home. This law not only inflicts physical and psychological violence upon animals—it also aims to destroy the solidarity and coexistence between human and nonhuman beings. Meanwhile, the construction of shelters and procurement of lethal drugs through state tenders serve to enrich certain actors. The state, viewing animals as commodities, shapes public opinion through its media arms, legitimizing exploitation and establishing dominion over nonhuman life. Since this massacre law was introduced, we have used every means available to defend the lives of animals and to resist the violence that the state enacts upon both human and nonhuman beings. Yet the state has not taken a single step back. The massacres continue. Therefore, we are launching a hunger strike in Istanbul, Izmir, and Eskişehir. We call on you to support this action and to stand against the repression of the state by: Organizing demonstrations in front of Turkish consulates and embassies, Spreading anti-tourism campaigns against Turkey, Boycotting all products manufactured in Turkey, Sharing and expanding this call in your own countries, cities, and collectives. To vegans, anarchists, and all revolutionaries who reject domination in all its forms: This is not merely a hunger strike. This is a resistance blade driven into the veins of the system. This is not merely a body. This is a collective will for vengeance against domination, passed down through generations. And we are marching directly into this system—to tear it down. We are not sparks — we are the fire. We are not ash — we are the uprising. And we are not coming — we were already here, and we will remain. INTERNATIONALER AUFRUF AN ANARCHIST:INNEN GEGEN DAS MASSAKER-GESETZ Die am 2. August mit parlamentarischer Mehrheit verabschiedete Gesetzesänderung Nr. 7527 hat die faschistischen und autoritären Methoden des türkischen Staates gegenüber Tieren sowie die unverhüllte Form speziesistischer Herrschaft offengelegt. Während das vorherige Gesetz dem Prinzip „kastrieren–impfen–am Ort weiterleben lassen“ folgte, besagt das neue Gesetz samt Verordnung, dass alle Straßenhunde in Gefängnissen unter dem Deckmantel sogenannter „Tierheime“ isoliert und — beginnend mit sogenannten „Zuchtopfern“ — systematisch getötet werden sollen. Seit der Verabschiedung dieses Gesetzes haben Hassreden und Gewalt gegen Tiere in den sozialen Medien drastisch zugenommen. Auch Angriffe auf Menschen, die sich um Tiere kümmern, sind häufiger geworden. Gleichzeitig hat sich die Gewalt in den von Kommunen kontrollierten Tierheimen weiter verschärft. Seit Inkrafttreten des Gesetzes wurden Tausende von Hunden und Katzen in Tierheimen massakriert. Die Gewalt nimmt täglich zu. In den letzten Monaten, befeuert durch dieses Massakergesetz und die damit verbundene Hasspolitik, wurde in Ankara das Haus einer älteren Frau, Ülker Güleryüz, in Brand gesteckt — sie verbrannte gemeinsam mit den Hunden, die sie beschützte. In Izmir wurde Şevket Yerdeşen von seinem Nachbarn erschossen, weil er Hunde bei sich zuhause aufgenommen hatte. Dieses Gesetz fügt Tieren nicht nur physischen und psychischen Schaden zu — es zielt auch darauf ab, die Solidarität und das Zusammenleben zwischen menschlichen und nicht-menschlichen Wesen zu zerstören. Gleichzeitig profitieren einige durch Bauausschreibungen für Tierheime und die Beschaffung tödlicher Medikamente. Der Staat, der Tiere als Ware betrachtet, nutzt seine Medien, um die Gesellschaft zu manipulieren, Ausbeutung zu legitimieren und Herrschaft über nicht-menschliches Leben zu zementieren. Seit dieses Massakergesetz in Kraft trat, haben wir alle uns zur Verfügung stehenden Mittel genutzt, um das Leben der Tiere zu verteidigen und uns gegen die staatliche Gewalt gegen menschliche wie nicht-menschliche Lebewesen zu wehren. Doch der Staat zieht sich nicht zurück. Die Massaker gehen weiter. Deshalb beginnen wir einen Hungerstreik in Istanbul, Izmir und Eskişehir. Wir rufen euch auf, diese Aktion zu unterstützen und euch gegen die staatliche Repression zu stellen durch: Demonstrationen vor türkischen Konsulaten und Botschaften, Antitourismus-Kampagnen gegen die Türkei, Boykott türkischer Produkte, Verbreitung dieses Aufrufs in euren Ländern, Städten und Kollektiven. An Veganer:innen, Anarchist:innen und alle Revolutionär:innen, die jede Form der Herrschaft ablehnen: Dies ist nicht nur ein Hungerstreik. Dies ist ein Widerstandsmesser, das in die Adern des Systems gestoßen wird. Dies ist nicht nur ein Körper. Dies ist ein kollektiver Wille zur Vergeltung gegen jede Form der Unterdrückung — weitergegeben von Generation zu Generation. Und wir marschieren auf diese Ordnung zu, um sie zu stürzen. Wir sind kein Funke — wir sind das Feuer. Wir sind keine Asche — wir sind der Aufstand. Und wir kommen nicht erst — wir waren schon hier, und wir bleiben. APPELLO INTERNAZIONALE AGLI/ALLE ANARCHICƏ CONTRO LA LEGGE DEL MASSACRO La modifica alla legge n. 7527, approvata a maggioranza dal parlamento turco il 2 agosto, ha messo a nudo nella forma più brutale le pratiche fasciste e autoritarie del potere, insieme alla più pura manifestazione del dominio specista. Mentre la precedente legge si basava sul principio “sterilizzare–vaccinare–lasciare vivere nel territorio”, la nuova legge e il relativo regolamento prevedono l'internamento di tutti i cani randagi in prigioni camuffate da “rifugi”, e l'avvio di un piano sistematico di sterminio, a partire dai cosiddetti “vittime della riproduzione forzata”. Dalla sua approvazione da parte dello Stato, la propaganda d’odio e la violenza contro gli animali sono aumentate drasticamente sui social network, così come le aggressioni contro le persone che si prendono cura di loro. Allo stesso tempo, all’interno dei rifugi sotto controllo municipale, la violenza e i massacri si sono intensificati. Dall’entrata in vigore della legge, migliaia di cani e gatti sono stati massacrati nei rifugi. La violenza non si ferma — cresce ogni giorno. Nei mesi scorsi, rafforzati da questa legge del massacro, sono avvenuti crimini raccapriccianti: ad Ankara, una donna anziana, Ülker Güleryüz, è stata bruciata viva nella sua casa insieme ai cani che proteggeva. A Smirne, Şevket Yerdeşen è stato ucciso a colpi di pistola dal vicino perché accudiva cani nella sua abitazione. Questa legge non si limita a infliggere violenza fisica e psicologica agli animali; mira anche a spezzare la solidarietà tra esseri umani e non umani. Allo stesso tempo, tramite gli appalti per costruire rifugi e acquistare farmaci letali, arricchisce alcuni. Lo Stato, che considera gli animali come merce, plasma la società attraverso i propri media per legittimare lo sfruttamento e imporre il dominio sui corpi non umani. Da quando questa legge è stata annunciata, abbiamo utilizzato ogni mezzo a nostra disposizione per difendere la vita degli animali e resistere alla violenza dello Stato contro gli esseri umani e non umani. Ma lo Stato non fa alcun passo indietro. I massacri continuano. Per questo motivo iniziamo uno sciopero della fame a Istanbul, Smirne e Eskişehir. Vi invitiamo a sostenere questa azione e a resistere alla repressione statale attraverso: Manifestazioni davanti ai consolati e alle ambasciate turche, Propaganda contro il turismo in Turchia, Boicottaggio dei prodotti fabbricati in Turchia, Diffusione di questo appello nei vostri paesi, città e collettivi. Ai/alle veganə, anarchicə e a tuttə lə rivoluzionarə che rifiutano ogni forma di dominio: Questo non è solo uno sciopero della fame. È una lama di resistenza conficcata nelle vene del sistema. Non è solo un corpo. È una volontà collettiva di vendetta contro il dominio, tramandata di generazione in generazione. E stiamo marciando su quest’ordine per abbatterlo. Non siamo scintille — siamo l’incendio. Non siamo cenere — siamo l’insurrezione. E non stiamo arrivando — siamo già qui, e continueremo a esserci.
