Hellas: Hunderte Faschoattacken seit der Wahl
Allein die pakistanische Community berichtet von mindestens 60 Angriffen innerhalb eines Monats und befürchtet aufgrund der polizeilichen Untätigkeit neben einer wesentlich höheren Dunkelziffer, daß es zu bewaffneter Gegenwehr der Angegriffenen kommen könnte.
Ein Beispiel bewaffneter Gegenwehr lieferten Bewohner eines Athener Romaviertels und eröffneten das Feuer auf die rassistische Polizei.
Beunruhigender Anstieg rassistischer Gewalt in Griechenland
In Griechenland wird seit den Parlamentswahlen am im Mai 2012 ein beunruhigender Anstieg der rassistischen Gewalt gegen illegale Immigranten verzeichnet.
Einen Hagel von Angriffen zu Lasten von Immigranten, speziell nach den Parlamentswahlen des 06 Mai 2012, melden die Vertreter der Immigranten-Gemeinden und beschuldigen die Polizei der Gleichgültigkeit. Wie Mitglieder der pakistanischen Community betonen, sind seit dem 23 Mai mehr als 60 Angriffe angezeigt worden, jedoch setzen die rechtsextremistischen Gruppen ihr Treiben ungestört fort.
Die Polizei äußert ihrerseits Befürchtungen über mögliche Reaktionen der Immigranten auf die gegen sie gerichteten rassistischen Vorfälle, welche Möglichkeit im übrigen auch seitens der Immigranten-Communities zur Rede gebracht wird. Jedenfalls werden den Organen der Ordnungskräfte nicht erst jetzt und nicht nur von Seite der Immigranten Gleichgültigkeit, Tatenlosigkeit oder sogar auch Sympathie gegenüber den faschistoiden rechtsextremistischen Gruppierungen angelastet.
Polizei geht nicht energisch gegen Übergriffe gegen Immigranten vor
Der Vorsitzende der pakistanischen Community Javed Aslam erklärte gegenüber der Zeitung “Ta Nea”: “Am Abend des vergangenen Freitags fuhren bei Schimatari 5 Stunden lang mehr als 100 Personen mit vermummten Gesichtern und Knüppeln und Ketten in ihren Händen auf Krafträdern herum und jagten Ausländer. Glücklicherweise hatten wir über ihre Züge Kenntnis erlangt bevor sie in dem Gebiet eintrafen und konnten die meisten Pakistaner informieren. Nur 2 – 3 auf den Feldern arbeitende Personen wurden nicht benachrichtigt und waren diejenigen, die verprügelt wurden. Das Problem der Polizei war jedoch, von wem und warum wir informiert wurden und unsere Landsleuten warnten, und nicht etwa, dass sie wieder einmal nicht ihre Arbeit tat.“
Wie Javed Aslam betont, haben die Mitglieder der pakistanischen Community seit dem 23 Mai 2012 mehr als 60 Angriffe angezeigt, jedoch gibt die Polizei sich weiterhin gleichgültig und lässt die Gruppen der Rechtsradikalen ungestört agieren.
“Auf dem Wochenmarkt in N. Ionia sind viele Male Angriffe gegen Pakistaner verzeichnet worden. Die Gruppen lauern morgens um 3 Uhr den Leuten auf, die eintreffen um ihre Stände aufzubauen, und schlagen sie dann zusammen. Wir haben Schutz verlangt, jedoch nichts geschieht“, erklärt der Vorsitzende der pakistanischen Community und fügt an: “Das Selbe auch in Nikäa, an der Kreuzung vor den Kinos. Jeden zweiten, dritten Tag gibt es dort nach 7 Uhr abends Gruppen Rechtsradikaler, welche Jagd auf die Immigranten machen.“

Vertreter der afghanischen Gemeinde erklären, dass die Immigranten die meisten Angriffe nicht zur Anzeige bringen, außer wenn sie ins Krankenhaus gebracht werden müssen.
“Es hat Fälle tätlicher Angriffe gegeben, in denen die Polizisten den Opfern vorwarfen, warum sie nicht zurückgeschlagen hätten. Wenn dies jedoch geschieht, wird leicht die Beherrschung verloren gehen und es zu ernsthafteren Situationen kommen können“, führt der Vorsitzende der afghanischen Community G. Mohammadi und ergänzt: “Nach den Wahlen im Mai 2012 sind die Rechtsextremisten dreist geworden. Wir sagen unseren Landsleuten, sich niemals allein und auch nicht abends zu zeigen und zu versuchen, Besonnenheit zu zeigen.“
“Vertreter der arabischen Gemeinden in Griechenland haben beschlossen, Demonstrationen vor den griechischen Botschaften in den Ländern zu organisieren, in denen solche existieren, und gegen die ständig zunehmende Anzahl der Angriffe gegen Immigranten zu protestieren“, erklärt gegenüber “Ta Nea” Ahmed Moawia, Koordinator der Griechischen Forums der Immigranten.
“Die Zurückhaltung seitens der Immigranten kann sehr leicht verloren gehen, speziell wenn von Seite der Behörden diese Handhabung existiert. Ebenfalls ist nicht zu vergessen, dass viele dieser Menschen ungebildet sind und leicht extremen Stimmen auch aus dem Raum der Immigranten zum Opfer fallen können“, warnt der Vorsitzende der Moslemischen Union Griechenland, Naim Elgadur.

An immigrant rights group on Thursday accused a Greek far-right party of being behind hundreds of violent attacks on immigrants as part of a stepped-up “terror campaign” aimed at driving them out of the country.
Leading activist Petros Constantinou told a news conference that the number of such attacks had ballooned since Sunday’s crucial national election, which saw the extreme Golden Dawn party nab 18 seats in parliament.
“There’s a huge pogrom underway now that has been organized by Golden Dawn gangs, with fascist and racist attacks in neighborhoods and in subway and bus stations,” said Constantinou, coordinator of the United Against Racism and Fascist Violence Movement. “Right now we have dozens of injured, stabbing victims.”
Constantinou said Golden Dawn’s strong showing in the poll has emboldened it to step up such violence, and he accused police of covering up for the party.
“What these neo-Nazis are striving to do right now is to convert their entry into parliament into legitimate cooperation with the Greek police” and judicial authorities, Constantinou said.

Immigrants from Pakistan gave accounts of violent assaults at the hands of suspected right-wing extremists on Thursday during a press conference in Athens held by the Movement Against Racism.
Mohamed Zahib, 23, said he had been attacked in Corinth, where he works, last Sunday. He said a man on a motorcycle asked him if he was from Pakistan. When he said no, the man left, only to return with another two people on motorcycles with the lights turned off. One hit him on the head with a club, he said, adding that he woke up in the hospital faced by four police officers. “They told me to say the attackers were Pakistanis, not members of Chrysi Avgi,” he said, referring to the ultra-right Golden Dawn

Riots break out in Ano Liosia, NW Athens

The district of Ano Liosia, in NW Athens, has a large Roma population; the community’s relationship with the police has often been tense: last year, a DIAS motorcycle policeman ran over and killed a 6-year old Roma girl.
On Sunday, one DIAS policeman died and another was seriously injured after crashing into a van driven by a Roma man. Both sides claim that the others violated a STOP sign.
What has followed since is partly unclear: it is confirmed that the police conducted a large operation in the Roma camp, supposedly in response to the traffic accident, but essentially harassing the camp’s residents. There are also still unconfirmed by very strong leads that the Golden Dawn held a gathering in Ano Liosia tonight, insulting and provoking the locals.
The local Roma have reacted, took to the streets, set a bus on fire (confirmed) and shot toward the police, injuring up to six of them (number unconfirmed). It appears that the situation has calmed down for the time being.

Almost daily by now the murderous racist attacks in Greece

A video of one the attacks, recorded secretly by a bystander and uploaded onto the Internet, showed a group of young men, most of them dressed in black, running down a flight of stairs at a metro station and attacking someone. Cries of “No, no” in broken Greek can be heard, though the victim is barely discernible, as well as an exchange between two of the assailants.
“Did you stick the knife in him?” one asks. “I shoved it in all the way,” another responds.
Representatives of immigrant groups in Athens have told Kathimerini in the wake of an Egyptian man being seriously beaten by a group of assailants that there has been a spike in the number of attacks on foreigners following the May 6 election, when neo-Nazi Chrysi Avgi (Golden Dawn) vastly increased its share of the vote.
“Things have got worse since the elections,” Reza Gholami, the head of an association of Afghans, told Kathimerini. “There are daily beatings. These guys don’t just want to frighten people, they are hitting to kill. They are hitting on the head, a lot of people are attacking at the same time. Most incidents are not known because immigrants do not notify authorities. They are afraid for their lives or don’t have legal papers or lack the funds to pay the cost of a lawsuit.”

June 12, 2012: One More Racist Attack Against Migrants in Perama – One Victim Hospitalized
An organized racist attack took place in the early morning hours of Tuesday, when a group of 20 people, armed with iron bars, wooden sticks and batons stormed the home where migrants from Egypt have been living. The incident took place in the industrial suburb of Perama, in the southwest of Piraeus.
Private broadcaster Mega TV said that the attackers first beat up a man who was sleeping on the roof of the one storey house. They tried to storm the house four more migrants were sleeping, breaking windows and doors, also the cars of the family parked outside. One of the victims was transferred to the hospital with serious injuries.
According to MEGA TV, eye-witnesses claimed that the attackers were wearing black blouses and some of them wore masks.
The migrants are from Egypt and work as fishermen. In the house were living one man, owner of a fish-shop, his three brothers and one shop-employee, report NewsIt.gr. They are living in Greece for quite some years.
A while after the attack, police detained 6 people at a nearby square. Six people — five men and one woman — were being questioned by police on Tuesday morning over an attack on a group of migrants living in a home in the industrial suburb of Perama, southwest of Piraeus, in the early hours of the day. According to police reports, the six suspects attacked the three migrants while they were asleep in the their home at 4 a.m., using bats and other makeshift weapons, and causing significant injuries to one of the victims. The incident began around 8 p.m. when a group of about 20 masked men wielding batons started beating refugees, migrants and homeless people in the middle of the street.
June 1, 2012: Migrant Stabbed With a Sword – Five Racists Attacks in the last days
Incidents of migrants stabbed on the streets or at public transport means have increased during the last days, with the latest two attacks to have taken place within 20 minutes. One man from Albania and two men from Poland fell victims to what it seems to have been ‘racist attacks’.
Eyewitness describe the incredible attack that took place on Thursday night at Neos Kosmos district of southern Athens.
The first victim was an Albanian man who was penetrated with a …sword by attackers on motorcycles outside the elementary school of the area.
Twenty minutes later after the attack and some three kilometers away, two migrants from Poland were attacked with knives. They are also hospitalized but were not able to testify to the police yet.
May 30, 2012: a man from Pakistan collapsed at the platform of the metro station Agios Nikolaos after he was stabbed.
May 28, 2012: A man from Bangladesh was stabbed by an attacker who was holding a knife inside the Athens Metro in Omonia Square. The attacker managed to flee.
