CLASS MAY DAY AGAINST STATE AND BOSSES

Solidarity with all those who fight against state and capitalist brutality, all those who fight for a society of equality – solidarity - freedom

The Chicago workers’ insurrection in May 1886 is peak moment for the class struggle of the oppressed to conquer decent working and life conditions. At the same time, May ’86, pushes forward the significance of the radical connection of partial struggles, like the one for the eight-hour workday, with the overall struggle for a society without bosses and slaves, without exploitation and oppression from human to human.

Today, 127 years after the events of Chicago, conquests which were the result of bloody labour insurrections and fierce class clashes are subverted for the benefit of the bosses, creating conditions of modern slavery.

For the greek state today’s circumstance, of general economic, political, social and cultural crisis, is characterized by its attempt for the overall reorganization of authority structures and the violent social reformation, in order to construct a society dominated by submission, control, fear, exploitation, fascism and fighting among the weak. Thus, the actual abolition of the eight-hour workday, the starvation wages and pensions, the abolition of collective labor agreements, the bigger and bigger increase of “black” labor and unemployment, the exclusion from the basic social assets, the criminalization and repression of social and class resistances, form the conditions of the war that has been unleashed by the state and bosses against the class of the oppressed, the workers, the poor for their enslavement.

A result of this overall attack, of the bosses’ immunity and the state’s will to consolidate socially that whoever strikes, claims, resists will be stricken exemplarily, is the recent murderous attack against the immigrant land laborers in Manolada Helias. Tens of immigrant land laborers working for a pittance under miserable conditions, and without insurance in the strawberry harvest, when they went to claim their six month payment from their landowner-employer, faced the bullets from his overseers’ shotguns, resulting to the injury of more than 30 of them.

This assault is not an isolated incident of employers’ terrorism, nor is it enough to be summed up with the numerous other incidents which show the bosses’ brutality. On the contrary, it brings forward both the reality which the most underestimated part of the labor class experiences, that is the immigrants – who along with the most fierce forms of exploitation they also face police pogroms, restraining in concentration camps, murderous attacks by fascist gangs – and the widespread conditions suffered by local and immigrant proletarians in the workplaces of paid slavery: the culmination of aggressiveness against our class aiming at the unimpeded continuation of its drain by the state and bosses.

It is within the same framework that the repressive policy of the greek state moves, in order to break, muzzle and subtract the meaning from every resisting voice which emerges and impedes state and capitalist advance. Thus, the repressive operation (police occupation in villages, mass DNA extracting, prosecutions and imprisonments) through which the state is trying to deal with the uncompromising and combative struggle of the local societies of the villages in North East Halkidiki for the defense of nature, its sources and their lives from the destructive plans for the settlement of gold mines in the area is exemplary of this repression policy.

Permanent aims of the repressive strategy of the state are the social, class and political resistances, their structures and infrastructures which are organized both outside the institutions and from below. More specifically the anarchist and antiauthoritarian movement faces today the raging repressive attack of the state (police invasions and evictions of squats, assaults by parastate fascist gangs, arrests and tortures on militants, muzzling of counter-information means of the movement) in order for it to terrorize all those who already fight in the streets and to make an example for all the oppressed so that they will passively accept the enslaving conditions imposed by the domination.

So it becomes clear that the state, the bosses and their mouthpieces have nothing more to promise than poverty, oppression and exploitation. The systemic crisis reveals the antisocial nature of the organization model of society imposed from above and pushes forward the fact that the perpetuation of this system is based on the exploitation of our labor force and the looting of nature and its sources.

From our side, the side of the workers, the poor, the plebians of this world, the history of class struggles shows us that proletarians have nothing to expect from the bureaucratic leaderships of the unions and the mediators of the class struggle who converse with the bosses pleading for their charity; that whatever it is they have to gain is going to be the result of their wide, organized on the basis, militant, emancipated and radical struggles. Only the overall subversion of state and capitalism, the social expropriation of the wealth we ourselves produce and is being sucked by a caste of authoritarians, the organized from below social and class counterattack, the social revolution and the construction of a society of common ownership and freedom without classes can justify the desires and true social needs of the oppressed of the globe.
