Dear friends,
Burma has been devastated by a cyclone--and by the military junta's failure to help its people cope. Help raise relief funds for distribution by Burma's monks networks:
In the wake of a massive cyclone, at least 22,000 Burmese are dead. More than 40,000 are missing. A million are homeless.
But what's happening in Burma is not just a natural disaster--it's also a catastrophe of bad leadership.

Another Franco-German nuclear waste transport this autumn
German authorities have allowed another transport of highly active nuclear waste from France to the north German village of Gorleben this year. It will be the first since 2006 and as usual is expected in autumn on dates not yet revealed. Each transport by train and trucks usually costs about 30 million euros to police as thousands of demonstrators from all over Germany converge on Gorleben, roughly equidistant between Hamburg and Hanover.

STOP CHINESE ARMS SHIPMENT TO THE ZIMBABWEAN REGIME!
by Zabalaza Anarchist Communist Front
We welcome and support the decision by the South African Transport and Allied Workers Union for their workers neither to unload nor transport the shipment of Chinese-made armaments destined for Zimbabwe. This is a very encouraging sign of working class solidarity and internationalism, and we hope that such actions will indeed prevent this weapons consignment from reaching its destination - the Zimbabwean Defence Force.
