The seventh day of angry people in Athens. the demand a real democracy, a new political system and the stop of IMF measures
The pictures were taken during a city walk in the streets of Athens.
They include impressions from the speech of the composer Mikis Theodorakis and also impressions of the Syntagma place.
Some photos are subtitled in order to explain views and statements.
Seven days now the people of Athens are going every day to the central Syntagma place in front of the parliament.

A series of impressions, which include also a view to the speech of Mikis Theodorakis is given at  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9z1R1WtQWg.

As a matter of fact, in between these people there are nationalist as well as other slighly extreme persons. This might change the nature of the protests if the democratic citizens stop to come to these demonstrations. This topic is one of the most discussed issues about the whole movement for a democracy free of financial surpression.

At the moment most of the demonstrators are unified with their demands:
-the IMF should leave
-Papandreou should run away together with his ministers and followers
-the existing political party system should go too
-there should be no more austernity policy for the benefits of international bankers

There are also people which stay at night on Greek city places. Artists will perform some happenings in the rest of the city. At the moment there is no violence at the specific places but meanwhile in other quarters of Athens there are pogroms against immigrants. The police is concentrated to shield the politicians, therefor the immigrants have no protection.

Mass media of the country do not show the extense of these demonstrations but they completely hide the pogroms.

Maybe it is five past 12... real political actions are needed, else the whole country will slip into a chaotic period full of violence.
