Einladung zum internationalen Kongress

anarchist 25.07.2010 12:27
8. - 10. September Internationaler Kongress in Thessaloniki

Griechenland/Krise in Europa).

in diesem Prozess ...

Großdemonstrationen an diesem Tag laufen ...

10.Sept.: Direkte Demokratie (regionale Selbstbestimmung)
11.Sept.: Großdemo

Der Einladungstext auf englisch:

Invitation to participate

We invite you to participate to the first “anti-authoritarian festival for direct democracy” which will take place on the 8th, 9th, and the 10th of September of 2010 in Thessaloniki.
Your presence is something more than necessary taking into consideration the present conditions of the generalised capitalist crisis which from a monetary crisis has evolved into a deep systemic one bringing on the surface issues that concern employment, insurance, pensions (either in the agricultural or in the industrial sector). Issues that concern the ecological distraction and in extend the folly of capitalist development. Later in the text, we refer you to a brief deployment of the crisis and how we see a way out of it.
Your presence is therefore placed within this framework and your offer is already inscribed into the way we learn to see things and in the way we seek to give an answer on how we intervene in our social life.
We hope that your reply will be a positive one, and along with your contribution, your participation in our three-day festival for direct democracy will be not just a literary quest, but an incision into the greek reality since we're currently under the direct supervision of the international capital, the “markets”. What will happen from now on, regards not only the euro and the future of the european monetary union but the direction of the social dynamic of resistance that has already surfaced against the brutality of profits.
We are aware that the eyes of Europe are pointed upon us for two reasons.
The first has to do with the government, the banks, the industrialists, the managerial executives.
The second, has to do with the base. The people of labour, the dispossessed, the large number of the society, the managed ones. A battle field has opened up, one we don't want to stay away from, and into which we invite you to participate by depositing your views which our appreciation for your person makes them a necessary parameter of the battle.

The anti-authoritarian Festival.

We have already successfully organised in Athens for two consecutive years the B-FEST, a festival of the newspaper we print, Babylonia. The international presence of the participators Michael Almbert, Howard Zinn, Noam Chomsky, Andrej Grubacic, Franco Berardi Bifo, David Graeber Rolfe, Robin Hahnel, Richard Matthew Stallman, Michael Hart, Fotis Terzakis, gave a different dimension to the public attendance and its participation in the discussions. The thousands of citizens that responded made us believe that this time as well in the second largest city of Greece, our undertaking will have similar results.
The dates we've chosen are not without meaning. On the 11th of September, during the opening of the international trade fair, the prime-minister announces the economic programme at the same time that tens of thousands of people will be demonstrating on the streets. We, along with the proposal for direct democracy and the social anti-authority, will be there with them.

The Anti-authoritarian Movement.

Since 2002 we are a network of people and assemblies with participation of hundreds of persons in all cities in Greece. With anti-hierarchical structure, with the decision to not take-over power, with direct democratic assemblies and with meetings all over Greece, we moderate our actions and struggle:
Against the conventions of capital and employers (Genoa – Prague – Thessaloniki 2003), against fortress Europe (no border Xanthi 2006 – Patras 2008), against the olympic games of 2004, against state control and oppression, against the white cells in 2005, against fascist parades in 2005-06.
We fight with the prisoners in the great hunger strike of the thousands inmates in 2008, with thousands of students against the classist administration of education, with the hundreds of thousands employees that went on strike against the IMF in 2010, against the cruelty of capitalism in Perama – Naousa – Thessaloniki. With the residents of local communities against the dams and the destruction of nature (Acheloos river – Mesohora 2007-2010, Halkidiki), with the social movements against the use of coal, against tolls.
With international solidarity for Zapatistas, for our Bulgarian comrades (1st May 2009 a day dedicated to the trade-unionist K. Kouneva).
We participated as an organic part in the uprising of December 2008 which has initiated a constant struggle between state power and society in Greece.
We participate and create libertarian structures in dozens of social centres, occupations, free public places, parks, radio stations and just recently we began to play part in the field of agricultural production and the networks of horizontal distribution of goods.
On all of the above in our daily action within society we attempt to put forward our message in theory and in effect solidarity, resistance, and the social inversion with a positive and creative rationale against the state, the capital and authority, for the direct democracy and the social anti-authority.
With appreciation and interest.
From the two assemblies of the anti-authority movement in Thessaloniki, Tuesday 15th of June 2010

Political Framework for the Festival of Direct Democracy
8/10 September Thessaloniki

The deep crisis which is imbedded in the society as a whole is not simply an economic one. The economic crisis is just the tip, or better said the visible part of the iceberg. On its basis appear issues that concern the sum of social and political institutions.
The traditional components which expressed through the political system of parties and and trade-unions of control are incapable to provide an approach for escape. There is nothing for negotiation over issues that supported up until now the traditional competition, either political or syndicalistic.
The phrase “there is no saliva” a greek expression used by the minister of labour Loverdos which means there is no money, put forward a message towards all directions that the negotiational quota is not only blocked but has began the negative count-down.
Into the well that they have sunk us, the way out is not quantitative but qualitative.
The crisis has opened up all issues. From September on, the crisis will become a maelstrom that will sweep along into bankruptcy and meltdown the entire system of domination not only in a narrow sense of economic terms of its financial stamina, but sweeps along the whole structural and ideological edifice which has supported the capitalist concession.
What enters in society with a violent manner is not only its ability to provide an answer but first and foremost the problematic lucidity of the question that has to be posed. We have to redefine our existence in all of the areas of social life that we participate. In land, in the factory, in services, in education. The fundamental questions that are being posed shock their own traditional existence to the core. What, how and for whom? Three dimensions of the qualitative leap which contribute the final escape from the crisis.
With this questions we will guide ourselves to this year's Trade International Fair of Thessaloniki.
The argument for horizontal social organisation in which presides direct democracy is not coming just to add one more critique to the present state of affairs but to cancel them. Never before the direct democratic aim had such an appeal, not only within the movement itself but also to the primary social actions. The direct democratic structures are not the question and the solution, but the way that will clarify the question and the way that will seek the solution. In the decadent political and party system, the way out offered by direct democracy can establish the modern radical reasoning, as long as we realise that the crisis is not political but constitutional.
The block of Direct Democracy in this year's trade international fair of Thessaloniki comes to synthesise all those social powers that perceive the bankruptcy of the traditional as an opening in the horizon of freedom with direct feasible targets.
The disengagement of the public sphere from the state and private interest as a new matrix of relations unmediated and socially free gives direct democracy the rebellious dynamic that corresponds to it. Direct democracy is not an alibi nor a pretext that will fit in the neighbourhood and will stand back in the central political scene of local and general elections.
The political proposal of the social emancipation is not a anthology of ideas. It's the reality of social anti-authority that's experienced with direct democracy in local and social straggles and movements. It's the claim of open spaces in the neighbourhood, it's the creation of public assemblies and open and free procedures. The occupation of public places abandoned by profitability (or the lack of it), or private spaces that are turned into free public and social ones. Those spaces can bu turned into centres of struggle through their multifarious activity so that every action will constitute another relation to the present and yet another proposal to society.
Direct democracy to the agricultural production is the horizontalization of the relations between producers and consumers which will extend from the field to packaging and distribution. What cultivation and by which way, for whom and for what needs are the direct questions that seek an answer in the direct-democratic organisation of food chain. This chain includes and unites labour with society. From the agriculture and social control in the factory, the way and the product of production so that the labour and the production answer to social needs and not to profit accumulation. A chain directly linked with the organisation of society that even though seems chaotic in its extent can be materialised through perceptible and operationally materialising targets that deal with a neighbourhood, or the networking of neighbourhoods that deal with a municipality, or the networking of public assemblies that deal with a city.
