Few minutes ago,a bomb exploded in the Ministry Of Citizen Protection in Athens.The bomb was inside a box and it was intended for the minister.Unfortunately,an assistant of the minister opened the box,the bomb exloded in his arms and he died on the spot.

Athen: Polizist stirbt bei Explosion in Minis
Im Ministerium für Zivilschutz in Athen ist eine Briefbombe explodiert. Der Sprengsatz detonierte Berichten zufolge in der Nähe des Minister-Büros. Ein Polizist wurde getötet, ein weiterer schwer verletzt.
Athen - Bei einem Bombenanschlag auf das griechische Ministerium für Zivilschutz in Athen ist am Donnerstag ein Polizist ums Leben gekommen. Ein weiterer sei schwer verletzt worden, sagte ein Polizeisprecher.
Nahe des Büros von Zivilschutzminister Michalis Chrysohoidis sei ein verdächtiges Päckchen entdeckt worden - das mit einer Sprengfalle versehen war. Offensichtlich explodierte das Paket in den Händen eines Polizisten, der versucht hatte, es zu öffnen. Der Minister hielt sich zu dem Zeitpunkt im Gebäude auf, wurde aber nicht verletzt.
Die Detonation hat der Polizei zufolge im gesamten Gebäude die Fenster bersten lassen und war kilometerweit zu hören. Das Ministerium befindet sich nahe des Athener Stadtzentrums. Hier ist auch das Hauptquartier der griechischen Polizei untergebracht. Die Zugänge des Gebäudes werden streng überwacht. Es ist das erste Mal, dass dort ein Anschlag verübt wurde.
Zwei Vorgänger von Chrysohoidis wurden bereits Ziel von Attentaten, die sie überlebten. Der letzte Anschlag ereignete sich im Mai 2006, der Minister blieb unverletzt. Zu der Tat bekannte sich damals die Untergrundorganisation Revolutionärer Kampf (EA), von der im April sechs mutmaßliche Mitglieder festgenommen wurden, unter ihnen der mutmaßliche Anführer. Die Europäische Union stuft die Gruppe als Terrororganisation ein.

Athens blast kills at least one
The blast took place not far from the office of the minister, Michalis Chrysochoidis, journalist Elinda Labropoulou reported for CNN.
It is not clear if he was in his office when the blast happened, but he appeared on Greek television shortly after the explosion, saying, "We are not afraid," Labropoulou said.
"I lost a colleague and a friend," Chrysochoidis said.
The bomb was in a parcel delivered to the desk of the assistant to the secretary of the ministry, CNN affiliate Mega Channel reported. It is not clear if the package was opened.
There has been no claim of responsibility so far, police said.
The ministry is responsible for public order, including policing.
Government buildings, banks and international businesses in Athens are targeted fairly regularly by bombers, but it is unusual for people to be killed.
Bombers often phone warnings to newspapers or police before the explosions. It is not clear if a warning was issued Thursday.

Dead in Terror Attack at Greece Ministry
A police lieutenant responsible for the safety of Chrisohoidis, who was a close associate of the minister for years, was killed during a strong explosion that rocked the building. He was the one who received the bomb that was placed in a package which was sent to him as a gift.
"Greek society will not be terrorized," said Chrisohoidis in his first comment to Greek media after the attack which is the first of its kind in Greece. Terrorists had never before reached so close to the office of a minister responsible for public order.
The victim's office is next to Chrysohoidis'on the 7th floor of the ministry building.
Greek state television NET also reported one slightly injured from the blast that caused the collapse of walls and shattered windows.
Most local media reported that Chrysohoidis was is his office the moment of the explosion and it is believed that he was the target of the attack.
SKAI television channel reported that Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou was immediately informed.
Counter terrorism experts commented while speaking anonymously to Greek media that there was no warning telephone call before the explosion and they suspect the attack was launched by local guerrilla groups that are responsible for a series of attacks over the past decades against political, police and financial targets.
Some counter terrorism experts said to MEGA that "Conspiracy of the Nuclei of Fire"could be behind the attack. The group has acclaimed responsibility for two attacks with two injuries this spring outside the main prison of Athens and the courthouse of northern city of Thessaloniki.
Other experts suspect that the attack could be organized by members of the group "Revolutionary Struggle" which has claimed responsibility for a major attack against the U.S embassy in Athens four years ago, among other attacks. This year Greek authorities have arrested a group of people accused of being key members of "Revolutionary Struggle".

Allgemein ist zu sagen, dass Briefbomben KEIN verantwortungsvolles Mittel sind. Alle Menschen, die da in der Nähe sind, können, aus welchen Gründen auch immer, die Briefbombe finden und anfassen. Postbote, Sekretärin, Wachmann, Hausmeister, Putze - Also selbst wenn irgendeine Gruppe das Töten eines Entscheidungsträgers bzw. einer Entscheidungsträgerin gutfinden würde, dann wäre eine Briefbombe jedenfalls nicht das geeignete Mittel.
