Yesterday (17.10.2009) a demonstration was organised in athens by
anarchists for the torture which lead to the death of a migrant from
pakistan, in the police department of Nikea (an area in athens).

Mohamed Kamran Atif was arrested on the 27/09 after some charges for the abuse of a minor. While the invasion of the cops at the house he was staying with his family, he was beaten badly by the cops and then he was driven to the police department of Nikea. all the way to the police department they kept beating him and while he was kept there he complained later to his family that he was tortured even by
electroshock. The accuser didn't recognise him so his brother was called to pick him up. He was forced to sign a paper saying that his brother (Mohamed Atif) didn't carry any bruises or any signs of abuse. There are also information that his papers (allowance of staying in greece) were also destroyed from the cops as a mean of pressure to him. He had clear signs of abuse and torture but he was too afraid to go to the hospital to be checked by the doctors. After a few days, on the 09.10 he died as his body had suffered insuperable damages. The greek media of course didn't cover the story as they all now praise the new "socialist" government.

Yesterday, around 500 anarchists were gathered a made a demo towards the police department of nikea. The whole area was full of cops, (all of the kinds) and they were following the demo all the way. when the demo reached close to the police department, the road was closed by a police bus. then the cops got attacked by the demo. as the demo was going away from the area, and while there was still some stone-throwing taking place, the riot cops attacked the demo with tear-gases and shock grenades. The demo continued to draw back until it reached the square where it was agreed to end. Info then started coming about people that got arrested while they were trying to leave the area where the clashes had happened. Apart from that, a lot of people got arrested while they where leaving nikea after the demo.

Today 8 persons passed from the public prosecutor and 5 of them were
charged with felonies for public disobedience, according to the new law about covering your characteristics while on a public demonstration. The rest of them were charged with delinquencies. Tomorrow they are going to pass from the court.

Since yesterday the city hall of nikea is under occupation from the
people that were at the demo and some more solidarists, demanding the
release of the people that got arrested and the retraction of the
accusations.

INSIDE THE CELLS OF DEMOCRACY, POLICE MURDERS

KAMRAN Mohamed ATIF
25 YEARS OLD IMMIGRANT FROM PAKISTAN
MURDERED IN NIKAIA’S POLICE DEPARTMENT AFTER TORTURES, ELECTROSHOCK…

September 26, 1:30 am, 15 cops invaded at the house of Pakistani workers in street Heliopolis 82, Nikaia (area of Pireas). Mohammed Atif Kamran and his relatives and roommates were beaten up by the caps and afterwards Mohammed Atif Kamran was led to the police department of Nikaia as a suspect of beating an underage person. There (at the police station) the savage beating continued. Tied his hands and hit with truncheon. They did electroshock at his knees and hands…

The complainant did not recognize him and withdraw the complaint and finally cops released him after they forced his brother to sign that he received Mohamment without any single bruise.
On October 9, Mohammed Kamran died because of the special police “care” which had “accepted” few days ago.

The democratic hilarity of “human rights” can not conceal that Life in capitalism doesn’t worth the same for everyone. Modern “fugitives” (immigrants, refugees) considered as expendable for this intensive exploitation and bloody repression.
Every Mohammed is an everyday target. At the borders, in minefields, at sea, in the concentration camps, in queues for an asylum claim, to police “cleaning” operations, to racist pogroms, in fascist attacks, at the extreme-right rhetorics, in media…

The system rhetoric about “isolated incidents” and “unfortunate incidents” can not convince anyone anymore, not even the most naive. Especially after last year’s murder of 15 year-old Alexander Grigoropoulos. Democracy murders. Police brutality is only the expression of the repressive state-capitalist barbarism: oppression, exploitation, subjugation and death. And all these do not change with government changes but only with social revolution and the advent of a free world without any power.

INSIDE THE CELLS OF DEMOCRACY, POLICE MURDERS

DEMONSTRATION on Saturday 17th of October, at Nikaia

APA/AP berichtet:

Aufmerksamer Leser 18.10.2009 - 21:50

Workers Association of city of Nikea

solidarist 19.10.2009 - 11:43
Nikea City Hall is occupied by anarchist groups from the afternoon of Saturday after a protest, for the death of the unfortunate Pakistani immigrant, that took place against the Police Station of Nikea.

The union of workers demand that the repression forces leave from the the boundaries of the historic City of Nikea. The occupation of the City Hall by the protesters is a political act, and the attempt to criminalize it is unacceptable and undemocratic.

The workers of Kokkinia [“red neighborhood”] disapprove strongly the attack of the repression forces against the demonstrators and the excessive use of chemical gasses in a densely populated area. The police state cannot intimidate protesters and workers.

We demand the immediate clarification of the case of the death of our fellow man immigrant. We call the Minister of Protection of Citizen to deal himself with this dark case and not attempt to conceal the tragic case.

The union of workers protests strongly against xenophobia and racism that far right wing centers and paracenters are trying to impose on the Greek society.

WE DEMAND

-THE REPRESSION FORCES NOT TO RAID THE NIKEA CITY HALL.

-IMMEDIATE WITHDRAWAL OF THE POLICE FORCES FROM THE BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF NIKEA.

-CLARIFICATION OF THE CASE OF THE DEATH OF THE PAKISTANI IMMIGRANT.

-DEMOCRATIZATION OF GREEK POLICE AND THE FIRING OF THE FAR RIGHT WING ELEMENTS THAT ARE LOCATED IN IT.
