Students' Demonstration in Lüchow
After the hour-long march, tensions rose as the crowd approached the road leading to the local police barracks. As student organizers encouraged those attending the 'official demonstration' to return to it, around 150 people left the official march, which organizers had planned to have turn back at the roundabout at the Saaßer Chaussee towards the center of Lüchow. This 150 instead decided to continue on, walking down Salzwedeler Landstraße, toward the police barracks.
There were several altercations. Eggs were thrown towards the police. Eggs hold a special significance at the students' demonstration, because at the last Castor transport, the police were very heavy-handed with young protesters. This year's resurrection of the egg-throwing tradition showed that resistance will not stop in the face of repression against students.
Police made three unsuccessful announcements to the crowd telling them to disperse. In reaction, protesters gave the police three announcements telling them to leave the streets, and told them that they did not in fact have to protect the nuclear industry.

NERVOUS BREAKDOWN IN POLICE CELL
“Yesterday we had a short opportunity to talk with Cécile Lecomte. She had a nervous breakdown and needed treatment by a doctor.” After protests on Saturday the group set up a permanent vigil to stay in place until Cécile Lecomte comes out. Anyone is welcome to take part or inform themselves. At 2 pm there’s to be another info and solidarity assembly and the press are invited to a conference about the conditions of arrest and the background to the “preventive arrest”.

Cécile Lecomte, die 26-jährige französische Kletter- und RobinWood-Aktivistin, die nach einer Blockadeaktion am Donnerstag von der Polizei in Gewahrsam genommen wurde und dort bis zum Ende des Castor-Transportes bleiben soll, ist Freitag Nacht von Lündeburg nach Braunschweig verlegt worden. Wie schon in Lüneburg fanden auch in Braunschweig spontane Proteste und Solidaritätskundgebungen statt. Mit einem großen Lautsprecher riefen die Kundgebungsteilnehmer ihre persönlichen Grüße und Wünsche in die riesige Polizeikaserne der Bereitschaftspolizei hinein, ohne zu wissen, ob Cécile sie tatsächlich hören würde. Mitten in der Nacht dann teilte die Polizei mit, dass Cécille um ein Gespräch gebeten hatte und eine Person konnte (nach Personalienfeststellung und Leibesvisitation) Cécile kurz besuchen. Sie ist in einer gefließten, spartanisch ausgestatteten Zelle ohne Außenkontakt und ohne Toilette untergebracht, die sonst vermutlich als Ausnüchterungszelle dient. In der Nach von Freitag auf Samstag hatte man sich geweigert das Licht aus zu machen. Und lange Zeit blieben Ihr so elementare Dinge wie Schreibzeug vorenthalten.
Mehrere Personen blieben als Dauermahnwache die ganze Nacht vor Ort. Wer kann und mag ist eingeladen, in die Friedrich-Vogtländer-Straße zu kommen, die Mahnwache zu unterstützen und sich weiter zu informieren ! - Wir beiben, bis Cécile rauskommt !
