On February 14th an antifascist activist was heavily wounded in Moscow
by nazi scum. Now he is in hospital in a critical state and needs money
for serious treatment.
This St Valentine's day sexual minorities of Moscow were planning to
have a little procession on one of the central squares of the city. But
before the event it was heard that nazi boneheads were planning to ambush the parade. Representatives of sexual minorities rights comunity called for
help from Moscow antifascists.
On the day of the event a big mob of nazis indeed showed up at the
place of the procession. But instead of gays and lesbians a crowd of about 50 antifascist skinheads and punks appeared at the square and shooed the
nazis away. After this the parade commenced, covered by antifascist
activists.
But the Nazis managed to regroup and attacked one of the antifascist
skinhead, who was cut off from the main force.. The guy was beat up and
stabbed heavily and ended up in the intensive care unit in hospital.
His life is still in extreme danger now. Doctors say that even at the
best he could stay in hospital for several months.

Eine Homosexuellen-Demo in Moskau konnte nur unter dem Schutz der Antifa stattfinden; dennoch gab es einen lebensbedrohlichen Nazi-Angriff.
Am 14. Februar, dem Tag aller Verliebten, wollten VertreterInnen sexueller Minderheiten eine Demo im Zentrum Moskaus durchführen, zwischen den U-Bahn-Stationen Puschkinskaja und Ochotnyj Rjad. Ziel der Aktion war, den Leuten zu zeigen, daß Schwule und Lesben auch lieben können, und daß es bei ihnen auch Paare und Familien gibt. Doch am Vortag erreichte sie die Information, daß den TeilnehmerInnen der Aktion Nazis auflauern werden. Angesichts möglicher Unannehmlichkeiten baten Angehörige einer Schwulen-Organisation AntifaschistInnen um Hilfe.
Die Nazis kamen tatsächlich zum vermeintlichen Ort der Aktion und warteten in kleinen Grüppchen auf die Ankunft der Schwulen und Lesben. Stattdessen erschien auf dem Puschkin-Platz eine beeindruckende Menge AntifaschistInnen, ungefähr 50 Leute, die begannen, die versammelten Möchtegern-Patrioten auseinanderzutreiben. Als der Platz "sauber" war, tauchten aus der U-Bahn Leute mit Regenbogen-Fahnen auf. Etwa um 19:10 begann die Demo.
Gleichzeitig gelang es den Nazis, sich neu zu sammeln und einen Antifaschisten, der sich von der Masse entfernt hatte, anzugreifen. Sie zogen sofort Messer, und der Antifa landete auf der Intensivstation.
Als der eigentliche Demonstrationszug an der Kamergerskij-Gasse angekommen war, erfuhren dort alle von dem Vorfall. Folglich beschlossen die DemonstrantInnen, zurückzugehen. Auf dem Weg trafen sie einige Nazis, von denen einer schwer verprügelt wurde.
Die Miliz, die zum Tatort kam, konnte niemanden festnehmen.

MOSCOW MILLS — Hate crimes in Russia have killed 17 people and injured more than 50 others since the beginning of the year, the Russian human rights group Sova said on Friday.
"This is a lot," said Sova's deputy director Galina Kozhevnikova, adding that 11 of the 17 killings were committed in Moscow.
During all of 2007, 67 people were killed and more than 550 were injured across Russia in ethnically motivated attacks, according to Sova's annual report. The figure represented a 13 percent increase over the previous year, with hate crimes growing increasingly brutal and deadly, the report said.
If the crimes were to continue at the same rate throughout the year, 2008 would see a total of 135 hate killings — double the number recorded in 2007.
Nationalist and neo-Nazi groups mushroomed after the 1991 Soviet collapse as a dramatic economic decline spread social frustration, particularly among the young. Their main targets are the numerous guest workers from impoverished ex-Soviet republics in the Caucasus and Central Asia.
Other victims are students from Africa, visitors from Asian countries, Jews and Russian anti-Nazi activists.
Kozhevnikova said the latest outbreak could be a response to authorities' recent attempts to get tougher on hate crimes, which have been on the rise across Russia in recent years.
"This is an indication of the organized nature of ethnically motivated attacks," she said.
Another reason for the outbreak, she said, was this year's unusually warm winter in Moscow.
Moscow prosecutor's office said Friday it has recorded 16 crimes on ethnic grounds in the city since the beginning of 2008, RIA Novosti news agency reported.
All the crimes were committed by groups of young people aged between 12 and 19 who attacked their victims from behind with knifes, the agency quoted the prosecutor's office's investigative department chief, Valery Spasenykh, as saying.
In the latest incident, one citizen of Tajikistan was stabbed to death and another wounded when they were attacked by five teenagers in Moscow on Thursday night, according to media reports.
Rights activists have said that authorities, who earlier came under criticism for doing little to combat xenophobia, have been making efforts recently to investigate hate crimes more thoroughly and take such cases to court.
Some activists say, however, that the extreme nationalist sentiments are an outgrowth of the Kremlin's attempts to rebuild a strong state. President Vladimir Putin has publicly condemned the rise of hate crime, xenophobia and neo-Nazism and called on prosecutors to do more to fight extremism.

SOLIDARITY WITH ANTI-FASCISTS IN RUSSIA
ANTI-FASCISTS are under attack in Russia. Intimidation, terror and murder by a new generation of neo-nazis are daily occurrences. The wave of violence reached a peak this summer when film of the cold-blooded fascist assassination of two people was posted on the internet.
That this is occurring in a country that lost many millions of people toHitler’s Nazis in the Second World War is even more shocking.
The facts speak for themselves.
122 people have been murdered by racists and fascists in the past two and a half years.
There are an estimated 70,000 skinheads in Russia today.
Anti-fascists are being systematically attacked and even murdered.
The perpetrators are often charged only with “hooliganism”.
President Putin has promised to stamp out rightwing extremism but has done little. Anti-fascists are not only few in number but are politically isolated in the face of an enemy that whips up hatred and brutality against immigrants and national, ethnic, religious and sexual minorities. Merely “looking anti-fascist” means being targeted by the nazis who patrol parts of most Russian cities looking for victims. In St Petersburg and Moscow, nazis gather intelligence to track down anti-fascists, and attack and, in some cases murder them.
Earlier anti-fascist campaigns against the public use of fascist symbols and the sale of racist propaganda achieved some success but the nazis reacted by murdering Professor Nikolai Girenko, one of the most highprofile anti-fascist specialists who had supported these campaigns, at his St Petersburg home.
The authorities talk proudly of the war against Hitler but do so now from a nationalist standpoint. The nazis claim to be defending “Russian identity” and “the interests of the Russian nation” and the toleration of violent nazi gangs stems from the fact that Russian nationalism is touted, even officially, as a remedy for the continuing feelings of defeat resulting from the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Anti-fascists in Russia now desperately need financial and material assistance but cannot generate this themselves. With funds, they can produce leaflets, organise campaigns and pay for lawyers. They can also build up a more organised, modern, computer-linked infrastructure to create proper networks of resistance.
This can only come about through the international solidarity of progressive people, and all anti-fascists and anti-racists outside Russia.
Antifaschistische Solidarität!
ziel des flash-mobs war es ein "recht auf liebe" auch für lesben, schwule, transsexuelle und transgender zu fordern. es kamen circa 100 personen. negativ aufgefallen sind RASHs, die sich zwar zum schutz der aktion zu verfügung stellten, sich aber trotzdem, laut augenzeugenberichten, abfällig über homosexuelle geäußert haben sollen. an einer ganz anderen stelle traf ein einzelner RASH, der sich nicht an der aktion beteiligt hatte auf 15 neonazis, die ihn sofort angriffen und lebensgefährlich verletzten. aber auch die die teilnehmer des flas-mobs wurden angegriffen. einige RASHs hatten auseinandersetzungen mit nazis provoziert, di auch jene teilnehmer invovierte, die keinen bock auf eine auseinandersetzung mit nazis hatten. die beleidigungen und die unnötige eskalation wurde von den initiatoren des flash-mobs negativ bewertet. eine gefährdung der aktion war völlig fehl am platz. die teilnehemr der aktion waren den nazis und rechtskonservativen zahlenmässig bei weitem überlegen. eine eskalation sollte aber trotzdem vermieden werden. denn am ende wäre die poizei nicht gegen die nazis vorgegangen, sondern gegen die flas-mobber.
dieser erste vernetzte autonome gay-pride-flash-mob wird trotzdem als positiv bewertet, zeigt aber auch, dass noch einiges in den russcischen, antifaschistischen kreisen getan werden muss, um die sensibilität für antifaschistische solidarität zu stärken.

Una manifestazione omosessula a Mosca poteva tenersi solo sotto la
protezione dell'Antifa. Tuttavia c'e' stata un'aggressione nazista che
mirava ad uccidere. Il 14 febbraio, giorno di tutti gli innamorati, i/le
rappresentanti di delle minoranze sessuali volevano fare una
manifestazione nel centro di Mosca, tra le stazioni della metro

Antifascist*, circa 50, che hanno cominciato a respingere i fieri
patrioti. Una volta “ripulita” la piazza, sono uscite dalla
metropolitana persone con la bandiera arcobaleno. La manifestazione e'
iniziata intorno alle 19:10.
Contemporaneamente i nazisti sono riusciti a ricomporsi e ad aggredire
un antifascista che si era allontanato dalla massa. Hanno subito tirato
fuori i coltelli e l'antifascista e' finito in terapia intensiva.
Quando il corteo e' arrivato in via Kamergerskij, si e' diffusa la
notizia, in seguito alla quale i/le manifestanti hanno deciso di tornare
indietro. Sul percorso hanno incontrato alcuni nazisti, di cui uno e'
stato picchiato pesantemente.
Le forze dell'ordine, giunte sul luogo, non sono riuscite a fermare nessuno.

La croce rossa anarchica di Mosca raccoglie fondi per l'Antifa che al
momento e' ancora in terapia intensiva a causa dell'aggressione fascista
del 14 Febbraio. Ha varie ferite da taglio, di cui alcune ad organi vitali.
Per tutt* quell* che non conoscono il sistema sanitario russo:
Nonostante in Russia siano garantite le cure di base a tutt*, per
ricevere ulteriori cure veramente adeguate, e' necessario ricorrere alle
proprie finanze, spesso anche di fronte ad elevati costi. Vogliamo
garantire all'antifascista, gravemente ferito, il miglior trattamento e
la migliore riabilitazione possibili.
