DK: Plan to Besiege Copenhagen City Hall
The Ungdomshus-Movement is back with a new and large-planned action which is grounded on civil disobedience. On October 2007 the Mass-action of G13 caused the politicians to restart the discussions for a new UNGDOMSHUSET. Not long ago it was clear that even the Movement around UNGDOMSHUSET is not satisfied with the expiration of the discussions. A new house is still not there, the "1-year-anniversary" of the old houses.. eviction is coming near.
To get more pressure to the politicians, the Ungdomshuset-Movement announces "G13 Part 2" - a mass-action grounded on the principal of civil disobedience. As the name "BlokR" tells, the siege of the city hall / Copenhagen council is behind the action; which ought effect not to let the politicians out of the city hall until they have a solution for the problem - as they caused the problem a few years ago.
The Ungdomshuset-Movement cannot be put onto the "long bench"
According to the plan, the action is about to start on 21st of February, when the council will hold a new conference about a new Ungdomshus, which is the last chance to get a new house before the 1st march, the "1-year-jubilee" of the eviction, where new riots are apprehended if the parties do not have a solution until then. "We apprehend that the discussions otherwise are about to stagnate", says Lars from new press-group of "BlokR". "It..s the aim to show politicians that we are still pretty much people who fight for a new self-managed and autonomous free-space. You cannot hide us inside a communal bureaucratic document· The plan is to use the same strategy as at the G13-Action in autumn: The activists will gather in different blocks with own color. Every block has the aim to reach an entrance to the city hall to blockade". The groups chose their own level of confrontation and strategy. As on October 6th the action will be under a consensus of action which will called confrontational but not violent.
The press group announces to start active resistance if police tries to avoid or cancel the blockades. Active resistance by meaning civil disobedience means to deny the commands of police and to resist against attempts to end the blockades in to push them back and to start actions of shelter to maintenance the siege. Lars says to show politicians the back if they try to break the blockades from inside the city hall. "They will get out when they found a new house", he says.
Fight against councils.. bureaucracy, not democracy
Isn't it anti-democratic to start such an action against politicians who are voted by public? Don't you try to press your will upon them instead of waiting for a democratic process?
"We cannot and would not press somebody to something else. We only want to go a sure way that the politicians hold their promise. The action is not against the political discussions where we are part of open and democratic. The action is against bureaucracy of the state which lead into that the process stagnated so far", Lars answers.

G13 hat überlebt. Festgefahrende Ungdomshusverhandlungen rufen eine neue zivile Ungehorsamkeits- Aktion namens “BlokR”(Wortspiel mit dän.”blokér” dt.”blockieren”)auf den Plan, welche erneuten Druck auf PolitikerInnen ausüben soll.
Die Ungdomshusbewegung ist zurück mit einer neuen gross angelegten Aktion, welche auf zivilen Ungehorsam beruht.
Im Oktober 2007 verleitete die Massenaktion G13, die PolitikerInnen dazu erneutVerhandlungen um ein neues Ungdomshus aufzunehmen. Vor kurzem kam allerdings zum Ausdruck, dass zumindest die Szene ums Ungdomshus mit dem bisherigen Verlauf der Verhandlungen überhaupt gar nicht zufrieden ist: Ein neues Haus lässt auf sich warten, während der Jahrestag der Räumung des alten immer näher rückt.
Um erneuten Druck auf die PolitikerInnen auszuüben, lanciert die Ungdomshusbewegung jetzt G13 Teil II- eine Massenaktion, die auf dem Prinzip des zivilen Ungehorsams beruht. Wie der Name “BlokR” schon andeutet, handelt es sich hierbei um eine Belagerung des Rathauses, bzw des Kopenhagener Stadtrates, welche darauf hinausläuft die PolitikerInnen nicht eher aus dem Rathaus zu lassen, bis sie eine Lösung für das Problem gefunden haben, welches sie vor Jahren selbst geschaffen haben.
Die Ungdomshusbewegung kann nicht auf die lange Bank geschoben werden
Laut Plan soll die Aktion am Donnerstag den 21.Februar stattfinden, wo der Stadtrat eine Konferenz bezüglich Ungdomshus abhält und wobei die letzte Chance besteht ein neues Haus noch vor dem 1. März, dem Jahrestag der Räumung zu finden, wo viele neue Strassenkämpfe befürchten, falls die Parteien nicht bis dahin eine Lösung gefunden haben.
– Wir befürchten, dass die Verhandlungen sonst dabei sind einzuschlafen, so Lars von BlokRs neu gegründeter Pressegruppe.
– Ziel der Aktion ist es, vor allem den PolitikerInnen zu zeigen, dass wir immer noch richtig viele sind, die für einen selbstverwalteten und autonomen Freiraum kämpfen. Uns kann mensch nicht einfach in einer kommunalen bürokratischen Akte verschwinden lassen.
Der Plan ist, dieselbe Strategie zu verwenden wie bei der G13 -Aktion im Herbst : Die AktivistInnen teilen sich in unterschiedliche Blöcke unter eigener Farbe. Jeder Block hat die Aufgabe ein Eingang zum Rathaus zu erreichen und diesen dann zu blockieren.
Die einzelnen Gruppen wählen selbst Konfrontationsniveau und eigene ausgeklügelte Strategien. Ähnlich wie am 6.Oktober soll die Aktion unter einem gemeinsamen übergeordneten Aktionskonsens stattfinden, welcher lautet: Konfrontation, aber keine Gewalt.
Die Pressegruppe lässt verlauten, dass auch aktiver Widerstand gegen eventuelle Versuche der Polizei die Blockaden zu verhindern oder gar aufzubrechen ausgeübt werden soll.
– Aktiver Widerstand in Form von zivilen Ungehorsam soll heissen, dass wir den Befehlen der Polizei nicht nachkommen werden und dass wir uns gegen Versuche die Blockaden aufzubrechen zur Wehr setzen, indem wir zurückschubsen und indem wir Schutzmassnahmen treffen, um die Belagerung aufrechtzuerhalten.
Er erzählt weiter, dass den PolitikerInnen der Rücken zugewendet werden wird, falls sie versuchen werden die Blockaden von innen zu durchbrechen.
– Die kommen erst raus, wenn die ein Haus gefunden haben, sagt er.
Kampf gegen die Bürokratie des Stadtrates, nicht gegen Demokratie
Ist es nicht antidemokratisch eine derartige Aktion gegen von der Bevölkerung gewählte PolitikerInnen zu machen? Versucht ihr nicht euren Willen aufzuzwingen, anstatt einen demokratischen Prozess abzuwarten?
– Weder können, noch wollen wir jemanden zu etwas zwingen. Wir möchten einfach auf Nummer sicher gehen, dass die PolitikerInnen ihr Versprechen einhalten. Die Aktion richtet sich nicht gegen die politschen Verhandlungen, an denen wir offen und demokratisch teilgenommen haben. Sie ist gegen die Bürokratie des Stadtrates gerichtet, welche dazu geführt hat, dass der bisherige Prozess ins Stocken geraten ist, antwort Lars.
