To the People of Austria,Germany, America and Britain.
Greetings to all,it is the first ever unfelt new year in Kenya and the tension is still so high after a not free and fair general election.I believe that you watch the news through your satelite T.V's.The truth of the matter can be so much felt here and especially the places deep interior where the international journalists have not ventured into. Most people are now internaly displaced and live either on churches or at the police stations.Women are being raped in full view of their husbands and more people are dying everyday. As the death toll rises, more fresh clashes are erupting after the European union election observers mission also declared today it's stand on what happened. It is now more than clear the elections were flawed and we have not a recognised government.
The fight has gone a notch higher and it is now inter tribal.Kenya unlike Rwanda, has got more than fourty tribes and the two main tribes are Kikuyus(the president's clan) and the luos(the opposition leader's clan). This once a great country has been ruled twice by the Kikuyus.First the founding father and now Mwai Kibaki. The second president was from a different tribe but suprisingly enough, all the other smaller tribes including his,are now on the opposition side. The country like you have seen is so much divided and to be sincere, peace wont prevail as long as the two groups are at loger heads with each other.
The outside world is watching, the intrested nations outside there are divided over this matter but am so much berieved by the stand taken by America and Germany over the issue. We are on the ground,we are the ones suffering and with us lies the truth according to what we are currently going through. We needed change,we needed a new corruption free government that respects all it's citizens and their right of choice.Dictatorship is long gone and even though we have seen enough before,we feel that it is better to have a different approach to a new Kenya by giving a chance to a new crop of leaders that for a very long time have tried their best to fight for democracy and revolutionise this country, saving it from the big bellied, corrupt, uncooth, unpalatable and stonage so called leaders that want to turn this country into anarchy style of government.
As I write this,am in Kisumu, the western part of Kenya and we have no water, rational electricity that will go off for good any time because almost three quarters of Kisumu is now blacked out.We don’t have food and there is no movement after six ocklock in the evening.Police are patrolling everywhere at night and to make the matter worse, they also in search of food, break into homes, grab by force whatever they want and then rapes the wife and daughters in full view of the husband(dad) and sons.We know that some goons have taken advantage of the going on and might be also involved in these acts too but that we can for now rule out because the only people that can move around after six oclock are the police.
Gun shots can be heard at night and in the morning bodies lie by the road side, collected by innocent civilians forced by police to do so,taken to the mortuary by the police lorries. We are now experiencing fuel shortage too and the pinch can be felt even in Uganda, our neighbouring country that so much depends on supplies from here. The death toll is more than what it is in the news you watch.
My fiancee being a clinical officer in a private hospital can tell you that they are running short of drug supplies, food and water. If this goes on like this they might close down in two or three days to come. Some of the staff members live at the hospital in fear for their lives. They have now stopped admitting new patients and the gates are closed. In the government hospitals, there is a huge shortage of staff being that most better positions in the government hospitals are or were being held by the kikuyus. They have fled to their homes leaving behind an outnumbered hospital staff that cant deal with the ever growing number of casualties.
The problem here is bigger than money and, with the starvation that is now facing all the rich and the poor alike, something has to be done and according to the view of many Kenyans, this is a sacrifice of life and we think that the current unrecognised government must step down or simply accept defeat and let the rightfully chosen government take charge of the country.
As for all that are planning to travel here from abroad,it is advisable that you wait untill all is safe.I know it is possible for one to make it from Europe to Nairobi but it wont be an easy life for a foreigner without enough necessary needs even if he or she makes it to Kisumu or any other interior part of the country. Our hope is that all is solved on time and we start afresh rebuilding this country,it is ours,we are the rightfull owners and for crying out loud I think that justice has to be done and peace will prevail.I know what being in power means and I know what the unoficial government is capable of doing.People will suffer, the rich will seek asilum anywhere including in your countries, the poor man's fight wont be recognised after the one he has chosen and fought for has dissapeared due to pressure or even mudered like Bhutto in Pakistan.
We love this great Nation, and please as your leaders make decisions over there on whom to congratulate as the winner and whom to call a looser they first have to put their personal intrests aside and investigate deeply on how things are done over here based on how a common, unnoticed citizen like me realy feels down here. For peace,we need each other more than personal gains. To all who will read this mail,I urge you to pass it over to your family, friends and neighbours and together you can stand up and fight for Kenya before it slowly turns into another Darfur,Sieraleone or even Sudan.Do that and save a great Nation before it is too late. You are all known to be peacemakers and no matter what it takes, help us to help ourselves.Speak out and let your voices be heard,
That is all for now and I hope that you will respond to this mail. You can reach me on this and also yahoo which is
fewbmilewa@yahoo.com.My phone numbers are down below this mail and now you can reach me at any time of the day or night.Have a happy new year and remember it doesn’t cost you so much to speak out your mind on this matters.
With lots of regards and so much love,
Tom

Immer wieder die Rufe: "No Raila - No Peace!"
