Homophober Überfall in Kreuzberg

On Friday 15 June 2007 at approx. 22:45 a group of 6-8 persons brutally attacked a man in a wagon of U-Bahn 1 driving to Warschauerstrasse. The aggressive people were young immigrant men between the age of 16-20, with skin head or very short haircut wearing mostly white T-shirts, sport shoes and hip-hop style trousers and entered the wagon at Hallesches Tor with clearly dominating behaviour, shouting and doing “muscle training” hanging from the roof. Very soon they noticed a man wearing a black leather mini-shirt and skin-colour tights with quiet long black hair. In a few moments they pushed him angrily till the other corner of the wagon and immobilized him against the exit door. All of them started hitting him with increasing cruelty and hatred till he was lying on the floor almost unconscious. They even wounded his right leg with a knife. The other passengers were watching scared and noone tried to stop them, except from one friend of the victim who was also hit on the face. One passenger pushed the alarm button. The whole attack lasted about 3-5 min and when the train stopped at Prinzenstrasse most of the men run out of the wagon, while one was still kicking on the face the man who was hardly conscious and bleeding from the nose, the mouth and the wound on the leg. The police was called but when they arrived the gang had disappeared out of the U-Bahn station to the streets. The man was transferred to the hospital and was kept until 13:15 when he was released as no broken bones were found.
The certain attack was clearly caused due the racist, discriminating and homophobic ideas spread in a broad spectrum of the society, including some very patriarchal immigrant communities. As expected, the cops did not refer in their statement to the motivation of those men and the same tactic was followed by the mainstream media. The state and its MEDIA-tors to the society by purpose avoid speaking the real motivation: HOMOPHOBIA, DISCRIMINATION, RACISM, HATRED.
