The Bombodrom is Settled

Amoungst the participants were many from other European countries, who are part of the Euro Marches and Bicycle Caravans on their way to Rostock. The activists are planning to camp on the site overnight. On Saturday morning the majority will travel to the mass demonstration against the G8 Summit in Rostock. They will bring a pink target pyramid by car trailer, to symbolically demonstrate the connection between the aggressive military politics of the G8 states and the Military exercises on the Kyritz-Ruppiner Heide.

At the opening rally Tobias Plüger (MdEP) talked about the military significance of the planned bombing range. In particular, the air forces from different NATO and EU states want to make exercises on the Kyritz-Ruppiner Heide. In their function and structure these exercises serve as preparation for future wars, said Pflüger. "We won't let our protests or form of protest be prohibited".
