G8 Camps open their doors to protesters
The three G8 camps (Rostock, Reddelich and Wichmannsdorf) officially opened on 31 May as thousands of people are pouring into the region around Rostock and Heiligendamm for the anti-G8 week of action. In addition, the main Convergence Centre in Rostock has been serving as a 'welcome point' and a hub for activities and preparations.
On May 29th, a caravan carrying equipment to set up the Wichmannsdorf camp was stopped-and-searched by police for several hours [report and pics | video].
