On the 14th of January in St. Petersburg, after the traditional action "Food Not Bombs" (FNB, serving a free meal for everybody who needs it), a group of 10 neonazis armed with knives attacked one of the activists. He was taken to the district hospital with 21 knife wounds. It should be noted that during action there were already about 7 nazis (it was clear what they were from their clothing) watching from nearby. The condition of the victim is grave. He lost much blood, and has taken damage to vital organs. He was operated on yesterday and today he needs a blood transfusion. Police instituted a criminal investigation under clauses 30 and 105 (murderous assault) of the criminal code of Russia.
It is no wonder that in a situation of legal apathy young
people start to act by themselves in reply to the fascist terror in many Russian towns. More and more people are joining the antifa movement.
20-years old Timur Kacharava (a musician from the band "Sandinista!" and an FNB activist) also was killed by nazis armed with knives on the 13th of November, 2005. The trial stemming from the murder still hasn’t started. (For more info, see

On the 16th of April, 2006, in Moscow 19-year old Alexandr Ryuhin
was killed on his way to a punk/hc concert: about 10 fascist attacked him with knives. He also was killed for his antifascist views. The murderers have been found but they are accused of "hooliganism" rather than premeditated murder with fascist motives. (See, in Russian,

Not long ago, on the 22nd of December, 2006, fascists in Moscow tried to blow up an antifascist in his house. He escaped any injuries miraculously, but 5 policemen were hospitalized. (See, in Russian

Fascist attacks are becoming more and more impudent and brutal. During 11 months of 2006 at least 44 people were killed by members of extreme
right groups (according to analysis center "SOVA"). Nearly every
murderer has been accused of hooliganism and given a suspended sentence. (See, in English
