2500 demonstrated in Lüneburg
Short report on a Anti-Castor demonstration that took place in Lüneburg, Germany, today

A demonstration procession of 2,500 set out in the afternoon from an information meadow at Clamart Park. Right from the start the police imposed many restrictions. They banned a peaceful action with bed sheets. Fifty demonstrators who left the demo route were surrounded by police and held in the circle for one and a half hours. Thereupon the demo route was changed. The final assembly planned for the "Sande" took place near the seat of the district administration. After the official demo was disbanded, three spontaneous ones with several hundred people each went on in the town centre, on the town ring and in the direction of the police circle. Finally all demonstrators were let go.
Said a woman participant in the evening: The principle of disrupting operations was realised best by the police today. They paralysed most main roads and occupied several junctions. The police behaviour was over the top. At a junction stood a water cannon at the ready, some police were helmeted. But demonstrators would not be demotivated. The mood was good throughout and everyone is determined to make this year's motto come true: the Castors this will not get past Lüneburg.
