WHY BLAIR WILL GO
1. Blair intends to use the Royal Prerogative to order British troops to attack Iraq, leaving them open to war crimes charges. This is offensive to many on the right and in the Palace.
2. Blair made clear on Newsnight he will support the Bush Junta's next moves in North Korea or Iran. The country realises that Blair is intent on a major war and he's got to be stopped.
2. This is the best chance for Brown and/or Cooke to make a challenge. We criticise the Daily Mirror for slagging Cooke, whose sacking by Blair, to be replaced by `lifelong friend of Israel` Jack Straw, was the perhaps the first indication of the Bush/Blair war plan.
3. The public's lack of trust in Blair is terminal. There is a feeling of ancien regime as Blair and Mandelson try to copy Bush/Sharon's use of scare tactics, now absurdly placing tanks in Heathrow.
4. New Labour is now as discredited as the tories. Labour has no future under Blair. Anyone outside Blair's circle of complicity should be able to see that. If Blair goes there would have to be a review of other unpopular New Labour policies: PFI, GM, tuition fees, WTO.

NOW IS THE TIME TO MAKE THE BREAK WITH BLAIR.
It can be done pleasantly, if Blair is sincere or if he at least pretends to be, he need only explain that he profoundly disagrees with the public and clearly cannot enter a war on that basis, so he's resigning. Maybe the ever-forgiving Europeans would even give him a good job at Brussels. Isolated in their support for Bush, the tories would be no threat to the new leader.
We hope that people with more powerful connections in the system can take this project over and run with it. All we have so far is an idea and a web site address. Both are on offer to a suitable owner!
