raids in italy - 60 people arrested
update from the legal support group in genoa (18.09.01)
today: raids and 60 arrests
the cops raided several places and arrested 60 people in several cities in italy. in particular these have to do with attempted bombattacks on the basilica di snat ´ambrogio in milano (28.06.00), the duomo di milano (18.12.00) and carabinieri station in milano musocco (26.10.99). 12 people were arrested in the villa occupata in milano. against two there are investigations because of §270bis "subverssive association". undercovers with balaclavas, digos (political police) and riotcops stormed the building. the ground floor was devastated. they confiscated paper materials. this morning at 8 o'clock a flat was raided in torino. there were arrests in modena. at the moment we don't have more information on this. there also were raids and arrests in padova, trieste, aosta, nuoro, cagliari, grosseto, cuneo, firenze, pisa, catania, orvieto, venezia.
molotov attacks on the csa pinelli and piazza alimonda
in the night from saturday to sunday the csa pinelli and the wall on piazza alimonda, where all the commemorations of carlo giuliani were, were attacked, probably with molotovs. it is assumed that these were attacks from nazis. this is a completely new situation for genoa. it is assumed, that the nazis only dare to do this because of the bigger backup through the cops and the state if not even their direct support after the g8. nobody was injured, but in the csa pinelli computers, infomaterials, parts of the interior were destroyed and the building was temporarily made unuseable. a demo is planned for saturday.
3 arrests in milano last wednesday
during the raids of the centro soziale vittoria and another squat (in via gola) in milano at 7 o'clock last wednesday antonio, elio and mario were arrested because of an antifascist demo that was on the 25th of april. skinheads from the forza nuova laid flowers in comemmoration of mussolini at the place where he was hanged. during the raids the cops found red flags and cannabis plants. a decision of the judge is expected these days.
prisoners in marassi moved to a different cell
michael, michael, peter and victor were moved within the prison. now they have time on the court yard several times a day
