Some are taking advantage of the opinion of Susan George to throw themselves against the militant sectors and to promote the divisionism inside the European popular movements. Sadly the old left bureaucracy carries the truncheon in this, therefore the militant sectors are not dedicating efforts to this dirty business.
Enough divisionism. All to the streets. Ideological fight yes, but still strike together. All to Genova to show strength. And multiply the work at the grassroots level to build the local counsels.

(Susan George, by the way, is the author of several books (The Debt Boomerang, The Lugano Report; and the vice-president of ATTAC).
I read the letter of Susan, excuse my ignorance but I do not know who she is, I think I am not missing much but I want to give some opinions to enlighten the topic and see if we can expand a little the setting upon which she thinks, in particular.
Gothemburg: Second city in importance of the kingdom of Sweden, is the main port of the country. Its population is distinguished from the other cities by its clear social content and classes, surely due to being a port, in this city the position of the union and political organizations are radicalised and more offensive or left, as is the case of the central commitee of the revolutionary marxist Leninist communist party, the sindicalists, anarcho- sindicalists etc.. In the election game the positions of the anti-right and anticapitalists from communists to anarchists receive great support, also the socialdemocratics count on great support. Therefore there should be, a fairly left position in this city, but (...) the unions of the industrious port corporations of the city have shown in numerous ocasions their commitment to solidarity with the people struggling, the boycot is a tool used by this union to support revolutionary movements and of liberation of other latitudes. This is the city of Gothemburg, where the Swedish convenors protest against the great circus (...) of the representatives of capital; there are an infinite number of groups and organizations and of political parties. This is another key of the events. About the convenors, the groups mobilising to the actions: AFA (anti-fascist action) of anarchist origin and its founders have been politically and ideologically oriented in a line of popular struggle (clear to the Swedes). In Sweden there are children of Chileans and Uruguayans, Miristas and Tupamaros respectively. Reclaim the Streets or the parliament of the streets: founded by young children of the revolutionaries of the 60s and 70s, (...) they have a clear anticapitalist project and they demand full liberty and the abolition of exploitation and of all capitalist forms of relation, they call to much more than Afa, the streets are taken and they organize parties, dances and cultural festivals, they destroy all the placards and commercial signs and they face the policias with violent forms, although their calls are essentially pacifist, but they actively resist repression.
The group MMD, mobilising against the dictatorship of the market, of more political orientation was founded by ex militants of the progressive left and expresses itself in mass pacifist actions against capital and attracts many intellectuals, artists, writers and theatre people and has carried out several important protest actions, they have a good mobilisation capacity.
The group Elevkampanj, campaigning students. Organised by the socialist party of the human rights. From a clear trotzkyist origin with the ancient content eradicated, a good direct action campaign has been developed against the (...) cuts in high schools and schools, they created a female group called "we deny us to be called whores" (vägrar kalas hour). This group carried out important actions against night clubs and the pornografic industry. Although young secondary students, they have a coherent aim and they have earned the support of the adults in their demands, they have achieved to close down some night clubs and they have attacked the pornografic industry.
The vegans, or the vegetarians by chance, are average children of the established middle class, ex progressive left. These groups of youngsters, aged 14-18 years are very organized, they carry out commando type actions against butchers (...) and animal homes and laboratories with animal testing, their actions include operative displacements, considerable sabotage, explosives and burning down localities, they have carried out press conferences and they defend the use of violence.
Then there are several organisations and smaller groups, all these of clear anarchist content, at least in practice, the average age of all these organizations is ten to five years. As if this it was little there are some thirty organizations of migrants of anticapitalist content, especially the Latinos, the Kurds, Iranians, Irakis etc.
The only group which appeared in this story is Attac, created from above, with offices in the centre, with ministers and ex-ministres among its leaders, with the (...) of the established political parties, the press, the government and the bosses. Attac should have a year of existence all in all. In the overview we made of Attac we noticed that some of these groups were working "on the Gothemburg thing" since January, that is to say since six months ago, they sold themselves and they distributed videos where the protests were shown of Seattle, Prague and elsewhere, chats were given upon personal defence and street actions etc. The events of Gothemburg were somewhat like a "chronicle of an announced battle ". The Swedish secret police, säpo, detained, abducted youths linked to these groups (...) to turn them into informers, the groups covered themselves with norms of security and they travelled to the city beforehand to get to know the territory and leave material.
Good so far with the description of the reality prior to the events of Gothemburg, to enable you to make your own opinion upon the events themselves.
